Midseason Stock Risers: 2022

These are players that should be climbing up recruiting boards. Don’t wait till the last second to sign these future program changers.

6-5 W [player_tooltip player_id="952583" first="Sebastian" last="Tidor"] – East Paulding

Averaging 25 and 12 rebounds per game, Tidor has single handedly risen East Paulding to their best start in years at 8-3, already surpassing last year’s 6-win season. The Raiders haven’t won 10 games in a season in over a decade. Tidor, who holds an offer from Eastern Florida State, is a do-everything star that routinely leads his team in assists, steals and blocks. His length and uncanny athletic instincts allow him to jump passes and thrive in transition. He has transformed his three-point shot into a reliable weapon. Tidor’s motor is among the best in the state. He has D-I upside.

6-3 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1223215" first="Alahn" last="Sumler"] – Buford

Sumler has found a niche in Benjie Wood’s offense. Alahn isn’t just a shooter, he’s blossomed into a well-rounded playmaker. He scores off the dribble, creates for others, crashes the glass and defends. He has good size for an off-guard and is a mature hard worker. JUCO schools are showing heavy interest.

6-6 W [player_tooltip player_id="1199631" first="Peyton" last="Law"] – Calhoun

It took a while to get off the gridiron but everything that I saw in the offseason is coming to fruition his senior season. Law is proving why he was a Preseason First Team All-State selection. The dynamic wing is averaging 24.3 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks. D-II programs are missing the boat on Law who can score equally as well from the low block as he does the perimeter. Berry, Maryville, Freed Hardeman, Oglethorpe, Kentucky Christian and LaGrange have offered.

6-10 C [player_tooltip player_id="1199590" first="Eli" last="Chol"] – Fayette County

The potential of [player_tooltip player_id="1199590" first="Eli" last="Chol"] has transformed into production. Averaging 20.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 5.4 blocks, the lanky post presence has dominated the paint. He will need to add weight in order to be more physical inside as both a rebounder and scorer, but his graceful long strides and guard-like perimeter skills give him major upside. The inside-out threat holds offers from Howard and Lincoln Memorial.

6-6 W [player_tooltip player_id="1192664" first="Xzavier" last="Wilcher"] – Mitchell County

I pegged [player_tooltip player_id="1192664" first="Xzavier" last="Wilcher"] as a deep sleeper back on the Prep Circuit and he has not disappointed. Long and wiry, Wilcher is a smooth athlete that scores at multiple levels. He’s a dangerous three-point shooter that can pull-up without hesitation to fire over smaller defenders. He has a graceful glide to the rim. Xzavier can defend 1-5 with his length and quickness. Putting up 18.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, Wilcher may be the most improved player in the state in Class A-Public.

6-5 G [player_tooltip player_id="1227064" first="Trevon" last="Payton"] – Shiloh

Payton patiently waited his turn until the reins of the offense were handed over to him his senior season. Standing at 6-foot-5, capable of playing 1-3, Payton is a big guard with smooth effortless stroke. Connecting on 41% of his threes, Payton is averaging 17.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.8 steals per game. Trevon has Shiloh undefeated 11 games into the season. He has grown his game by leaps and bounds. Payton plays at a cool pace and is getting better and better.

6-4 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1359870" first="JT" last="Fulkrod"] – Jefferson

Ranked No. 4 in the state, Jefferson has gotten major production out of [player_tooltip player_id="1359870" first="JT" last="Fulkrod"]. He has very good size at the two-guard position and has been in the weight room. He has a clean release from three and can score both from the mid-range and all the way at the rim. JT is a microwave scorer that can score in bunches once his first shot falls. D-III and NAIA schools should be involved with D-IIs monitoring.
