When it comes to overall prospects in the state of Washington, it doesn’t get a whole lot better than a player like [player_tooltip player_id="1183144" first="Denis" last="Kadiric"]. In perhaps the toughest leagues in the state (Metro), Denis has proven to be a problem against tough competition with his size at 6-foot-8. He will take any challenge inside the paint with his physicality and high motor and can’t be left alone when sitting on the perimeter. On the glass, he will battle for every possession. In a league matchup Friday night against Bishop Blanchet, he dropped 27 points (22 in the first half) and chipped in with 10 boards, 5 assists and 2 steals and dropped a 43-point bomb earlier in the month. With a scholarship offer from Metro State University in Denver, more could be on the way as the season moves forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="930411" first="Ben" last="Nyquist"], 6’3, Guard, Lake Washington, C/O 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="930411" first="Ben" last="Nyquist"] is starting to turn heads as an all-around scorer as the back portion of the hoops season comes along. A 30-point game is nothing but a normality to him at this point in the year. In the Kangaroo’s 72-51 win over Interlake, Ben was a treat to watch, pouring in 34 points with 4 triples, adding 7 boards and 4 steals. Once he gets a couple buckets to drop, there’s not much opposing defenders can do. A knockdown shooter, Nyquist can stretch the floor from well beyond the 3-point line and comes off screens with a purpose. If players leave him open, he makes them pay. In addition, he has the ability to create his own shot, gets out in transition, sets up teammates and doesn’t settle for a deep ball.

Pawlos Zecharias, 6’5, Wing, Bishop Blanchet, C/O 2022

Pawlos flys under the radar at Bishop Blanchet. His performance of 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals on the road against Ingraham Friday was much needed to help the Braves secure a 65-62 victory in league play. He seems to be in the right place at the right time on both ends of the court. He will clean up empty possessions and convert those opportunities into points more often than not if he is not boxed out or gets to his spots. He is more of a slasher, but is more than capable of knocking down 3-pointers. On defense, he’s capable of guarding multiple positions and digs into opposing standout players.

[player_tooltip player_id="1145121" first="Tayon" last="Sessoms"], 6’3, Guard, West Seattle, C/O 2022

[player_tooltip player_id="1145121" first="Tayon" last="Sessoms"] has improved a ton from the opening week of the season. As the Metro League starts revving up towards postseason play, Sessoms has helped forge an elite backcourt duo with running mate [player_tooltip player_id="929622" first="Isaiah" last="Watts"] and is a huge reason why the Wildcats (8-2) are considered a major threat come postseason time. He can play both guard positions, hits jumpers from both the mid range and beyond the arch, and plays with a toughness each contest. When West Seattle took Rainer Beach (10-1) down to the wire in a heavily anticipated matchup at the Jamal Crawford Court, he had 23 points, with 21 coming against Lincoln (Seattle) on Tuesday.

Nathan Visdal, 5’10, Guard, Liberty (Renton), C/O 2022

Nathan Visdal can be considered one of the more underrated prospects in the Renton area. Liberty has seen a lot of games canceled this season, but sits at 7-1 in the 3A KingCo race and Visdal has helped with his all-around play. Visdal hasn’t been able to get his shot to fall consistently yet this season, but at 5’10 is more than capable of contributing is many areas for the Patriots and has been setting up his teammates. With season numbers of 7.8 points, 7.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.8 steals, he will be looking to finish out the year strong.
