These are some of the best senior performers that I got to see in person over the last two- three weeks! Some of the best performers from two big time tournaments down in Houston, and some cross town rivalries from the first two weeks of January!

[player_tooltip player_id="1052160" first="Dubem" last="Muoneke"] 2022 Cypress Ranch High School

Dubem is a surprisingly athletic big man who can do it all for his team on both ends of the floor. He is the definition of a paint beast, whether that is throwing down thunderous dunks, rejecting shots at the rim or clearing the glass and starting the fast break. He even displayed an impressive handle and ability to get downhill with a live dribble. It was fun watching him create much like Giannis does in the league; putting his head down and running you over to get to his spot. I was really blown away by his all around game for an undersized forward. He looks like he is capable of transitioning into a wing at the next level or become an extremely switchable forward.

https://youtu.be/s2w0ZykeT9U

[player_tooltip player_id="854930" first="Shawn" last="Jones Jr"] 2022 Shadow Creek High School

Shawn continues to have a stellar senior campaign, he is scoring at all three levels efficiently and effectively. I am blown away with how much his shooting mechanics and consistency have improved since his sophomore season. He is a real weapon to score off the bounce from the midrange or beyond the arc. His handle is much tighter, and he is comfortable shouldering the offensive load alongside fellow senior [player_tooltip player_id="1052074" first="Camron" last="Amboree"]. I have not even mentioned his freak athleticism that allows him to fly to the rim and finish over anyone, or suck the air out of the gym with a nasty jam. Expect Jones to transition with ease over to the next level, as he is committed to attending Texas State next year.

https://youtu.be/s1nH5kxaEcA

[player_tooltip player_id="1052074" first="Camron" last="Amboree"] 2022 Shadow Creek High School

Camron has been lighting it up for Shadow Creek and is a real one two punch with Shawn Jones. Amboree has the ability to fill up the stat sheet from beyond the arc. He is very comfortable getting to his own shot off the dribble, even from deep NBA level range. It has been a real pleasure watching him pick apart defenses with the threat of his scoring ability. He consistently makes the right reads and is always directing traffic and helping out the young talent Shadow Creek has coming up behind him. Watching him run in transition might be the best part of his game, he is a bully when committing to getting to the rim and will finish over anyone he has to with the right touch. However, he knows when to pull up when given too much space or to look for the streaking Jones.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcySI2z0LZ0

[player_tooltip player_id="889590" first="Austin" last="Benigni"] 2022 Woodlands Christian Academy

Austin continued to impress as he scored from all three levels of the floor, created open looks for his teammates with some wizardry level passes and fought through some real adversity in this tournament. In the second game his team played, Benigni was diving after a loose ball and ended up getting kicked in the face, causing him to spit up some blood on the sidelines. During his time off the court his team quickly went down ten. When he returned in the second half, you could tell he was a man on a mission. He got to his spots in the midrange, got his shot to go from beyond the arc and attacked the rim with ferocity. Down the stretch, he ended up having 3 assists, a floater and a midrange jumper to seal the game for his team. This was another great opportunity for Benigni to show his dominance on the court. He and future standout [player_tooltip player_id="1220767" first="Zion" last="Pipkin"] had a real duel in their semi final matchup at the 2021 VYPE Holiday Invitational!

https://youtu.be/zsIIFadTvj8

Tyree Davis 2022 Pearland Dawson High School

Tyree is an athletic slashing wing who thrives at absorbing contact and finishing at the rim. He is a reliable shooter when given time to spot up, he loves acting as the trailer on the break to open up the three point line for himself. He has great body control, paired with a strong confidence in his touch around the basket makes him a truly deadly weapon when coming downhill. His size and athleticism makes him a special player in transition where he thrives. It also helps him out tremendously on the defensive end of the floor, and he is not afraid to contest a shot at the rim screaming in from the back side. It was fun watching him matchup with a tough Shadow Creek team who focused on taking him out of the game. They collapsed the paint hard and forced his shooters to beat them which they could not do. I liked watching him work through being uncomfortable and still working to get up efficient looks all around the court.
