On January 13th I attended the Basha at Hamilton game in Chandler, AZ.

I watched all three levels of ball with Freshman, Junior Varsity and Varsity.

Here were the standouts of the first two games: (All seven are freshman newcomers)

Freshman game:

[player_tooltip player_id="1366577" first="Ashton" last="Berry"] Hamilton

A long and lean scoring guard can hit the 3. He can step back on his defender plus uses the floater. He uses his long arms to defend and he is a fluid athlete. He is a productive player and plays confidently.

[player_tooltip player_id="1366585" first="Makai" last="Frazier-Taylor"] Hamilton

A strong undersized lefty PG is quick. He has the floater game, he can hit the deep ball and will hesitate and then blow by his defenders. He uses his speed on the ball defensively and makes plays.

JV game: (All 3 Basha players played FR and JV)

[player_tooltip player_id="1366580" first="Justin" last="Garcia"] Basha (Pictured)

A scoring PG is a tough player. He can burst into the lane and will finish with either hand. He has a tight handle and real open court speed. He isn’t afraid to attack towards the basket and will score it around traffic. He shows toughness and will take charges. He has a high arcing 3pt shot with some success.

[player_tooltip player_id="1366582" first="Cullen" last="Schreiner"] Basha

A long scoring guard is a natural shooter with a quicker release. The sniper handles the ball decently and he plays the game with a high IQ plus he is a good passer. He knows his way around the court and shows future upside.

[player_tooltip player_id="1366586" first="Ethyn" last="Currie"] Basha

A stronger frame wing forward brings physicality to the game to along with his skill. He can get downhill and rebounds well. He will push the rock after he corrals a board plus he will score it through contact. He defends the 3-5 for the Bears.

[player_tooltip player_id="1366578" first="Davion" last="Harris"] Hamilton

The nephew of Doug Harris is a tough one. He has good length to play the passing lanes and is a three level scorer. He can pull-up off the dribble and hit 3’s off the catch with a quicker release. He can drive and kick it to a shooter and plays with good pace to his game.

[player_tooltip player_id="1366579" first="Andrew" last="Maier"] Hamilton

A strong and bouncy forward will block shots and run the floor. He rebounds out of his area and plays with energy and power. He scores it near the basket and Harris and Maier are a nice freshman duo on JV.
