<p>Below is a preview of five southeastern Pennsylvania games we are looking forward to watching the week of January 23rd, 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Sun., Jan. 23rd…West Catholic at Roman Catholic: </strong>First place in the Philadelphia Catholic League is on the line when these two traditional basketball powers take the court today at 2:30PM on Broad Street. Headlining West Catholic’s roster is junior [player_tooltip player_id="1121734" first="Zion" last="Stanford"] (13 ppg.) as well as 2022 standout twins [player_tooltip player_id="1122111" first="Kaseem" last="Watson"] and [player_tooltip player_id="1122112" first="Kareem" last="Watson"] (Both committed to CSU-Bakersfield). That trio will get support from standouts like senior [player_tooltip player_id="991210" first="Nasir" last="Griffin"] (10 ppg.) as well as juniors Shemar Wilbanks-Acqui, and Adam “Budd” Clark. Roman has its own superstar trio in seniors [player_tooltip player_id="901951" first="Daniel" last="Skillings"] (Cincinnati), [player_tooltip player_id="991212" first="Khalil" last="Farmer"] (Hofstra) and junior [player_tooltip player_id="991334" first="Xzayvier" last="Brown"]. Brown’s (14.4 ppg.) recruiting stock has skyrocketed in the last six months.</p>
<p><strong>Tue., Jan. 25th…Parkland at Allentown Central Catholic:</strong> Parkland’s elite 2024 sharpshooter [player_tooltip player_id="1123885" first="Nick" last="Coval"] and 6’5” forward Will Meeker will have their hands full as they take on the defending PIAA 4A state champions. Allentown CC boasts the all-state duo of [player_tooltip player_id="1200803" first="Liam" last="Joyce"] and [player_tooltip player_id="991200" first="Tyson" last="Thomas"] who have pushed ACC to an 11-0 Eastern PA Conference record (14-1 overall). That duo has been getting significant help from 2024 interior standout [player_tooltip player_id="1130840" first="David" last="Fridia"]. Fridia has recently added a dependable 3-point shot to his bag of skills.</p>
<p><strong>Wed., Jan. 26th…Perkiomen School at Scotland Campus:</strong> This game will draw in hordes of college coaches as both rosters are stacked with prospects. Taking the floor for the visitors will be elite wing player [player_tooltip player_id="1315682" first="Ryan" last="Dunn"] (Virginia); 6’10” Princeton commit Phillip Byriel; stretch-4 style player Thomas Haugh (numerous mid-major offers); combo-guard Xaivian Lee (Princeton); and 2023 standout Preist Ryan. Now that is a formidable lineup. The host team will counter with their own roster of stars -- [player_tooltip player_id="1172922" first="Brandon" last="Huntley-Hatfield"] (No. 10 in our 2022 rankings), outstanding junior shooting guard Niki Norberg and senior lead guard Jeremiah Stanton.</p>
<p><strong>Fri., Jan. 28th…SCHA at Penn Charter:</strong> This game will determine who takes control of first place in the Inter-Ac for now. SCHA is off to an excellent start this season (12-3; 3-1) thanks to the outstanding play of [player_tooltip player_id="1188210" first="Alassane" last="Amadou"] who is one of the top 2023 prospects in the region. Amadou holds a truck load of DI offers. Junior point man Darius Isaac is also receiving significant attention from college coaches. In the last month mid-range threat [player_tooltip player_id="1200762" first="Camden" last="Burns"] has been one of the hottest shooters in the area. Penn Charter (14-3; 3-1) also has a slew of players catching the eyes of college coaches. Point guard [player_tooltip player_id="991383" first="Mark" last="Butler"] (POY candidate) and combo guard Keith Gee form a tremendous backcourt. Combine those two with scoring machine [player_tooltip player_id="1116056" first="Trey" last="Shinholster"], 6’4” wing Isaiah Grimes and freshman sensation [player_tooltip player_id="1271429" first="Kai" last="Shinholster"] and you have a lineup that can match-up against any squad in the area.</p>
<p><strong>Sat., Jan. 29th…Holy Ghost Prep at Bensalem: </strong>This season HGP has battled Covid protocols and injuries, but last year’s District 1 quarterfinalists keep battling thanks to a trio of players with the potential to play at the next level. Leading the way is senior high percentage shooting guard Shane Reilly. The 6’3” Reilly will get tremendous support from 2023 combo guard Seamus McDermott (HG Academic Elite Camp All-Star) and interior prospect, 6’6” Mel Lindsay (2023). Bensalem has raced out to an 9-1 record behind the amazing play of senior lead guard [player_tooltip player_id="1119120" first="Aaron" last="Sanders"] (1st Team All-SOL selection last year). In the half court, Sanders will splash threes all day. Still, he also excels in transition by getting downhill quickly and fearlessly attacking the rim with his speed and elusive handles. Sanders recently posted 31 points on the strength of 8 made threes.</p>
