3 Big Performances

6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="934036" first="Chudi" last="Anosike"] || Murray High School || 2023 ||

Talk about a player turning it all the way up as Chudi lead a furious 4th quarter comeback and then led Murray to a huge road win against Skyline. Chudi was playing both ends of the floor and he went off for 45 points as Skyline had no answer for him. Chudi is no stranger to big games as this year he has taken his game to new heights. Look for him to join that 1,000 point club by the end of the year, especially at this pace. Nice next level prospect with a high ceiling.

6’6 [player_tooltip player_id="968093" first="McCoy" last="Langston"] || Copper Hills High School || 2022 ||

The savvy combo guard that can really shoot the ball was huge in a big time game that featured one of the best teams in Region 2 that is now part of Region 3. McCoy was doing it all over the floor running off of screens and in catch and shoot situations he has knocking shots down and making some great plays. McCoy has next level talent as he is getting courted by various colleges including some D2’s.

6’5 [player_tooltip player_id="1057034" first="Dutch" last="Dowdell"] || Olympus High School || 2024 ||

Dutch went off for 33 points and when one player lights up up Dutch comes back with a big performance to remind everyone that he is up there with the best shooters in the state. Dutch not only knocked shots down from deep, he went off for 9 three-pointers. Keep in mind he is only a 2024 prospect. Dutch has a bright future as a potential D1 kid.

3 Big Wins

Herriman vs. Mountain Ridge

Upset of the night for sure as one team came in 10-3 and the other came in 3-10 but these boundary rivals brought a physical style of play that made it very sloppy. The crowd filled the gym as Mountain Ridge brought more fans to the visiting Herriman gym and a game that went down to the last possession. Herriman pulled out a victory. [player_tooltip player_id="1363988" first="Cale" last="Barclay"] hit some huge free-throws and some smooth finishes at the rim. [player_tooltip player_id="1169420" first="Ashton" last="Snarr"] was huge although being the smallest player on the floor.

Lone Peak vs. Pleasant Grove

With PG coming off of a tough OT loss to Bingham they had no easy game against Lone Peak. PG got a huge game from [player_tooltip player_id="934022" first="Michael" last="Mitton"] as he joined McCden Adams in scoring 20 points. Not only did PG have a big win they nearly 20 pieced LP. PG keeps getting better especially as they played a big time schedule.

Crimson Cliffs vs. Dixie

It isn’t very often that Dixie starts region play 0-2 but things are just different his year in basketball. Crimson Cliffs came back and was able to send the game to OT and Crimson was able to pull out a 1 point win. 6’3 [player_tooltip player_id="1127233" first="Hudson" last="Hawes"] was huge as he tallied 28 points in the win. Hudson nailed 6 three-pointers and that was the big difference in the game, outside shooting. That Southern Utah Region is tough this year and it can go either way.
