This article states the 2022s from Columbus that impressed at Flyin’ to the Hoop this past weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id="921759" first="Javan" last="Simmons"] is a Toledo commit and is a modern throwback player. He has very nice athleticism and moves very well. He is a big strong kid that battled with Brush’s [player_tooltip player_id="814555" first="Tyler" last="Williams"] all game long. He stood toe for toe with him and showed he can play at that level. He can finish in traffic with both hands and will be a very nice big for the Rockets.

[player_tooltip player_id="921757" first="Jerry" last="Saunders"] (2022) G 6’1. Pickerington North

[player_tooltip player_id="921757" first="Jerry" last="Saunders"] impressed me once again. He continued to score greatly below the arc and lead Pick North to victory. The kid knows how to put the ball in the basket and will be very nice for a college program for the next 4 years. He has the tools to be a very nice player.

Alex “Sonny” Styles (2022). F 6’5. Pickerington Central

The future buckeye is an athlete. He is big and strong with incredible speed and bounce. He can guard anybody, he was tasked with guarding Garfield Heights’ point guard Johnson Jr, which should not be possible for his size. This showcased he can guard all five positions. He is a problem on the boards because of his jumping ability.

Josh Whiteside (2022). F 6’7. Gahanna Lincoln

I love Whiteside’s game and potential. He is a very long and athletic forward for Gahanna. He is a very raw player that does need some skill development but his athletic ability allows him to do things others simply can’t. He has incredible bounce and quickness for his size making him a defensive lockdown defender. He can grab almost any board if not boxed out. I would’ve loved to see some more offensive skill but he is already a bully down low when he gets it close to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id="1138767" first="Corey" last="Hudson"] (2022) G 6’0. Pickerington North

[player_tooltip player_id="1138767" first="Corey" last="Hudson"] once again punished opponents at the basket. He was very aggressive all night long and made Wayne pay. He finished the game with 12 points and Pick North needed every bucket from him as they only won by 3. He and Saunders are a very nice scoring duo that could take the Panthers far into the playoffs.
