<p>As the season has gotten into full swing this month, there have been a good amount of players "lighting it up" throughout the Western Pennsylvania region. Some of these young men are scoring over 30 and 40 points per game to start the high school season. In my opinion, a tremendous lack of defensive effort and desire has been attributed to the escalation of points for a variety of basketball players this winter. Not taking anything away from the scoring abilities of these guys, because regardless of the reasons behind the high output on the stat sheet they are still the ones putting the ball in the basket during a four-quarter contest. Below we touch the surface of a mixed bag of seniors, juniors, and sophomores in the Western PA area.
