Week 3 continued to be a strong start for the Ohio High School basketball season. This week, I will be looking at the top performers by graduation year. First up is the 2022 class with 2 of the 5 prospects already committed. For the remaining 3 prospects, any of these guys could be hidden gems for various schools in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id="809602" first="Jacob" last="Conner"] (Alter)

Conner utilized his length against rival Fairmont in their matchup last Tuesday. Conner is such an intriguing prospect at 6-foot-9 as you don’t typically see guys his length and size on the wings. Defensively, he’s an anchor in Alter’s 2-3 zone. Conner handles his own on the offensive end but has been most interesting to me when protecting the rim with his length and athleticism. Marshall is getting quite an impactful player next year.

[player_tooltip player_id="921793" first="Anthony" last="Johnson"] (Fairmont)

Johnson continues to make strides in the Dayton area as he put together 31 points for the Firebirds in their giant win against Alter. Johnson’s perimeter shot is automatic as he is almost impossible to defend when he gets into a rhythm. Knocked down shots in multiple ways either catch-and-shoot or off the dribble. If anyone has seen their stock rise so far this season, it has to be Johnson.

Hunter Price (Hillsboro)

Price is listed as a SF, but really runs the Point and does everything for the Indians. Price is the most athletic player on this team and truly the most talented guy. Understands the game and plays with a high motor. In their livestreamed game against Jackson, I watched Price rebound the ball on the defensive end, make an outlet pass, and sprint down to a position and be one of the first two passes on the offensive end. Price plays hard when he’s on the floor and can be a sleeper for D3 programs Regionally.

[player_tooltip player_id="1185845" first="Sean" last="Collins"] (Mentor)

Collins impressed in Mentor’s game against Cleveland Rhodes. The 6-foot-6 SF is an automatic rebounder, getting his hands on the ball every time it’s off the glass. Collins plays his role well as he’s not going to be a volume scorer and will be more of a rebounding threat and defensive guy. Can be an inside-out option if he adds some muscle to his frame.

[player_tooltip player_id="809612" first="Tom" last="House"] (Centerville)

House did what he does best in a dominating win over Northmont...do the basics. The 6-foot-6 Florida State commit knocked down perimeter shots at a high percentage and did it with defenders in his face at times. Not only is House a shooting threat, but his focus on the defensive end is just as impactful as he understands the shifts on help-side and on-ball. Took a charge in the game I watched and boxed out bigger guys. House is just a gritty player that
