#1 Chase Sucharda – New Castle HS: Chase is a big guard out of New Castle high school. I got a chance to watch Chase play at the “Sick of Sickle Cell” high school showcase at Putnam City West High school. His Newcastle team took on a very talented Lawton Mac team. The first half of the game was extremely back and forth with no team gaining any clear momentum with the score tied. The third quarter was all Chase Sucharda as he put on an absolute show making step-back threes and handling the Lawton full-court pressure. Chase’s spark in the third allowed Newcastle to pull away to a 74-50 win. Chase ended the game with 18pts 5ast.
#23 Jaden Nickens – Millwood HS: “He’s just a freshman!” But he did not look at all like he didn’t belong Saturday versus Classen. Jaden came off the bench and gave Millwood a much-needed lift as he created not only for himself but for others as well. Jaden also threw down a fast-break dunk as Millwood pulled away from Classen in a closely competitive game. (no stats provided) Jaden Nickens without a doubt is one of the most exciting players I have watched so far and he comes to bring energy it every night.
#23 Dylan Warlick Dylan Warlick 6'6" | SF Edmond North | 2024 State #226 Nation OK – Edmond North HS: Edmond North kicked off their season on the road versus Norman North and Dylan Warlick Dylan Warlick 6'6" | SF Edmond North | 2024 State #226 Nation OK did not disappoint. He seemed as if he could do no wrong impacting the game on all three levels. Dylan is an absolute matchup nightmare for teams this year. Dylan led all scores with 27pts in a big road win over Norman North 69-62. Dylan is showing that he is one of the best forwards in the state regardless of class.
#23 Camden Laskie Camden Laskie 6'6" | SF Deer Creek | 2022 State OK – Deer Creek HS: Deer Creek high school went out of state to Kansas for the Phog Allen Tournament at William Chrisman high school. Camden Laskie Camden Laskie 6'6" | SF Deer Creek | 2022 State OK had an outstanding showing all tournament, leading his Deer Creek team to champions of the Phog Allen tournament. One of his more impressive performances was in the championship game versus William Chrisman. Camden put on an absolutely dominant performance with 11 points and snagging 15 rebounds. Camden is an elite rebounder and one of the better bigs in the area.
#33 Dayton Forsythe – Dale HS: Dayton Forsythe has been a breakout star in the 2024 class and has been key for the early success of Dale high school. Dayton has been showing the entire skillset early on this season. He was huge in the win they had over Latta high school 61-29. He also recently had a monster game of 31 points, 17 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Dayton is indeed one of the best scorers in the state regardless of class and one of the best players in the 2024 class. Be on the lookout for Dale to make a deep run in the state tournament this season.
