The greater Fort Lauderdale is tucked between West Palm Beach and Miami. It also has great basketball talent next to the Magic City. Big name programs like Calvary Christian Academy tend to dominant the region. However, you have talented prospects spread out around Broward's biggest city.

Let’s take a look...

[player_tooltip player_id="1055758" first="Dylan" last="Burrowes"] - Fort Lauderdale

Not many kids walking around have the size (6’7) as [player_tooltip player_id="1055758" first="Dylan" last="Burrowes"]. The 2024 prospect is also a solid 215+ pounds. Who knows...maybe he grows a few more inches as he continues to fill out. Burrowes is averaging 14.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. The sophomore prospects moves well and can finish near the basket. Furthermore, Burrowes continues to define his post moves. Against Taravella, he scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. With two more seasons, Burowes has a chance to really develop.

Tamarrien Thorpe - Stranahan

2022 Tamarrien Thorpe has been solid for the Mighty Dragons. The 6-foot-2 guard is averaging a steady 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. Thorpe is athletic and moves well in the halfcourt. He holds a 3.0 GPA in the classroom. Thorpe is one of Stranahan’s leaders along with 2022 Jaylen Black. The 5-foot-9 guard is averaging a team-best six assists per game. Credit to both players for Stranahan's 4-0 start.

[player_tooltip player_id="829426" first="Darius" last="Tigner"] - Blanche Ely

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829426" first="Darius" last="Tigner"] has size to be a factor around the rim. The dual-sport (football) athlete is around 6-foot-5 and 215-220+ pounds. Tigner can create space and power his way to the rim. In addition, his same strength can be used as a rebounder and post defender. For his mass, Tigner moves well and knows how to finish. I think he could be a consistent factor over 32 minutes.

Brandon Cox - Flanagan

2022 Brandon Cox is averaging 10.2 points, 4.2 assists, four rebounds and 3.7 steals per game. Against Coral Springs Charter, the 5-foot-9 guard scored 19 points and dished out three assists. Cox is a nice shooter from inside the perimeter to go along with his elite quickness. Based on his stats, Cox has been a valuable contributor to the Falcons. He would be a nice guard pickup for a college interested in him.
