<p>The top prospects from week two and the best performances from around the state December 6th-December 11th.</p>
<p><u>[player_tooltip player_id="1076693" first="Joren" last="Mirabal"]</u>- 6’2 Shooting Guard "Magdalena" Class of 2022</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076693" first="Joren" last="Mirabal"] is currently the scoring leader in New Mexico averaging 29 points per game through six games this season. This past week he had two great performances. This past Tuesday December 7th vs Hot Springs, he scored 26 points shooting 8/12 from the field, 4/6 from three, 8 rebounds and 12 assists just shy of a triple double. His play helped Magdalena defeat Hot Springs 75-18. This past Friday December 10th vs Ramah, he scored 18 points shooting 6/10 from three point range and led Magdalena to a 85-12 win to improve to 6-0 this season. Those wins this week helped Magdalena win the "Steer Stampede" tournament. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Charlie Benally</span>- 5’10 Forward "Newcomb" Class of 2023</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Newcomb Forward Charlie Benally had a good performance of games this past week. This past Tuesday December 7th vs Tse’Yi"Gei he had 23 points on 9/18 shooting with 10 rebounds and 5 steals. They won the game 80-45 at home. This past Friday December 10th vs Chaparral, he scored 28 points to help Newcomb defeat Chaparral 84-29. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076677" first="Jose" last="Murillo"]</span>- 6’9 Center "Highland" Class of 2022</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Highland big man [player_tooltip player_id="1076677" first="Jose" last="Murillo"] has helped lead Highland to an undefeated 5-0 record so far this season. This past week Tuesday December 7th vs Hope Christian he had 23 points on 10/14 shooting and a double double with 10 rebounds. This past Friday December 10th vs Chaparral at home he had another double double with 28 points and 11 rebounds. He shot 14/17 from the field while leading Highland to a 87-29 victory. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076700" first="Exodus" last="Ayers"]</span>- 6’3 Point Guard "La Cueva" Class of 2023</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Point Guard [player_tooltip player_id="1076700" first="Exodus" last="Ayers"] had a good performance vs Volcano Vista this past Tuesday December 7th. Despite a close loss 60-59 to Volcano Vista, [player_tooltip player_id="1076700" first="Exodus" last="Ayers"] scored 21 points, had 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals shooting 7/13 from the field. </p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076675" first="Jakwon" last="Hill"]</span>- 6’0 Shooting Guard "Volcano Vista" Class of 2022</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076675" first="Jakwon" last="Hill"] and the Volcano Vista Hawks came out as the "Phil Griego Invite Tournament" Champions this past week. Before the tournament this week, he had a great performance vs La Cueva in a highly anticipated game. In a 60-59 win vs La Cueva, Jakwon hit a game winning three pointer at the buzzer. In the tournament this past weekend he had several good performances to help Volcano Vista win the tournament. This past Friday December 10th vs Eldorado, Jakwon had 16 points and 5 rebounds on 6/9 shooting to defeat Eldorado 75-27. Than yesterday Saturday December 11th in the championship vs Cleveland, he scored 25 points and had 5 rebounds to help Volcano Vista defeat Cleveland 81-70.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">William Benjamin</span>- 6’1 Shooting Guard "Las Cruces" Class of 2022</p>
<p>Las Cruces Shooting Guard William Benjamin had a great tournament at the Joe Armijo Classic. This past Thursday December 9th vs West Mesa, William scored 33 points and was 11/12 from the free throw line and had a double double with 13 assists. His high level play helped Las Cruces defeat West Mesa 84-59. Than this past Saturday December 10th vs Hope Christian, he scored 33 points again on 12/20 shooting and had 6 rebounds, 6 assists to defeat Hope Christian 82-53. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Derek Chavez</span>- 6’1 Shooting Guard "Pojoaque Valley" Class of 2023</p>
<p>Derek Chavez helped lead Pojoaque Valley in two good victories this past week. This past Tuesday December 7th vs St. Michael’s he scored 32 points in the teams 57-51 victory. Than this past Thursday December 9th vs Grants, he scored 26 points in the teams 66-61 win.</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Chris Parra Jr.</span>- 5’10 Point Guard "Atrisco Heritage" Class of 2023</p>
<p>Atrisco Heritage Point Guard had a great performance against the Sandia this past Thursday December 9th. Chris Parra had 10 points in the teams 42-41 victory over Sandia high school. He hit the game winning shot when Atrisco Heritage got the ball back with around 8 seconds left to put them up by 1 with 2 seconds left to win the game. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Noah Gershon</span>- 5’9 Guard "Clovis Christian" Class of 2023</p>
<p>Noah Gershon scored a season high 31 points on 9/20 shooting this past Thursday December 9th vs Cloudcroft. He also shot 4/9 from three point range, had 6 rebounds and 3 assists in their 75-51 victory vs Cloudcroft. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076667" first="Isaiah" last="Carr"]</span>- 6’11 Center "Las Cruces" Class of 2022</p>
<p>Las Cruces big man [player_tooltip player_id="1076667" first="Isaiah" last="Carr"] has had a solid season for far and had a solid week of performances this past week. This past Monday December 6th vs Roswell, he scored 18 points on 8/10 shooting and had 7 rebounds with 3 blocks in the teams win 75-36. This past Thursday December 9th vs West Mesa, he dominated with a double double of 24 points and 18 rebounds. He shot 12/14 from the field in the 84-59 victory vs West Mesa. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="1076681" first="Kaden" last="Self"]</span>- 6’6 Small Forward "Las Cruces" Class of 2022</p>
<p>[player_tooltip player_id="1076681" first="Kaden" last="Self"] was a huge factor in helping Las Cruces win the "Joe Armijo Tournament" Championship this past week. This past Monday December 6th vs Roswell, he scored 25 points on 10/11 shooting and had 6 rebounds in the 75-36 victory over Roswell. This past Thursday December 9th vs West Mesa, he had a double double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the 84-59 win. Than this past Friday December 10th, he scored 15 points on 5/8 shooting to help Las Cruces defeat Hope Christian 82-53. </p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Matthew Gonzales</span>- 5'7 Guard "Robertson" Class of 2022</p>
<p>This past Saturday December 11th, Matthew Gonzales had the most impressive scoring display of the season.In a close game vs Estancia High School, he scored a New Mexico high 55 points in the game. Despite the loss 80-77, Matthew Gonzales is one of the top performers in New Mexico this week. </p>
