SubscribeWhen it comes to talented teams across the country Utah might not strike you as a place that is producing a lot of talent, things are starting to change in the Beehive State. This year alone 70k people moved into the growing state which is also helping basketball grow here as well.
The Beginning
Stance Elite isn’t your typical “Mom and Pop” program as their beginnings are deeply rooted in the fact that a group of elite players needed a club team that was going to take their players to the next level. With a handful of their players being teammates since they have been really young it was time to take them to the next level.
Deep Basketball Roots
Stance Elite is currently coached by Travis Hansen who had himself a Pro career with the Atlanta Hawks. He also had stints in Spain and Russia. Another notable player on the team’s father is Tim Drisdom who played for the University of Utah and played in Finland as well. Only 18 month in and they are making waves.
Rankings
Stance Elite has been ranked in various publications that follow the middle school kids has them 1 and 2 out West and they come in the Top 25 across the country in various rankings as well.
Roster
6’3 G Franck Belibi
Franck is from Colorado and has some athleticism in the family as his sister plays basketball at Stanford. He is long and athletic at the wing position. Strong defender with D1 potential.
6’3 G/F Junior County
Great mid-range game who can really play any position on the floor. Great feel for the game and he can stretch the floor with his outside shooting. Dad played at the University of Utah and Junior is also a D1 prospect.
6’3 G/F Carter Basquez
Carter is a defensive stopper that still has a lot of room to grow. Once he gets his ball-handling and shooting right he will be a problem. Carter is also from Colorado.
6’1 PG Isaiah Drisdom
Isaiah is has some speed. One of the fastest guards with the ball in his hands in his class. Great on-ball defender and on the other side of the ball he has good vision but with improvement in his passing he will put together a solid package for a PG. Hid dad was a D1 basketball player at the University of Utah.
6’0 PG/SG Mason Hansen
Mason is one of the best shooters in the West and he has range to go along with it. He has a great handle and he takes care of the basketball. He’s one of the Top prospects in his class. His dad played at BYU and for the Atlanta Hawks. D1 written all over him.
6’7 C Jamyn Soundrup
Top 5 ranked player in the country in his class. Big time D1 kid with a lot of potential. Not only does he have a high ceiling he still has the opportunity to get to 6’10 or 6’11. Jamyn has the skills to play at the highest level. Has a sharp inside-outside game.
5’11 G Braxton Wilkerson
Great defensive guard that can light it up from outside. Has some major toughness as he is a dual-sport athlete. His dad played football at BYU. Might have a shot at football at the next level.
6’5 W Dean Rueckert
Dean is one of the better all-around players you will see. Top 20 players in the country and there is athleticism in the family as his sister will play at Weber State for volleyball. Will be a highly recruited prospect.
The Fundamentals
Stance Elite really works on a lot of the fundamentals such as speed, agility and simply understanding the game. The focus is to always play the right way.
