Tarkanian Classic Non-SD standouts, Part 2
Angelo Kambala, 6-0 2023 G, Liberty (NV)
Kambala is one of the best shooters I’ve covered – ever. His ability to reload off the head fake and sidestep dribble is elite. But there are other aspects of his game that translate to the next level, namely his on-ball defense and his ability to move without the ball to find his spots on the floor.
Jaden Kelsey, 6-5 2025 G, Overland (CO)
Kelsey’s team was on the short end of a game against San Marcos, but he was arguably the best long-term prospect on the floor. The lefty combo guard’s size, handle, court vision and shooting ability all are very good for a player his age.
Marzouq Abdur Razaaq, 6-7 2023 W, Overland (CO)
Kelsey’s teammate is a very intriguing prospect in his own right. He played a lot of “point forward” on the day, initiating the team’s offense, scoring from multiple spots on the floor, and throwing some high-level passes off the bounce. He mentioned that he’s got interest from Northern Colorado and other Big Sky programs, who would be wise to keep him firmly on the radar.
Liam McNeeley, 6-8 2024 W, John Paul II (TX)
John Paul II’s squad is loaded with high-level players and prospects, but it was McNeeley’s size, ball skills and moxie that really stood out.
Roddie Anderson Roddie Anderson 6'1" | PG Fountain Valley | 2022 State CA-S , 6-1 2022 PG, Fountain Valley (CA)
Anderson competed until the end of his game against John Paul II, attacking the basket and finishing through contact, knocking down shots from midrange, including floaters and runners, and creating for teammates in drive and kick and pick and roll. The area where he’s taken a big step forward is his strength; he looks noticeably stronger and can take contact on the way to the basket much better than earlier in his career.
Rashaud Bradley, 6-4 2022 W, Sheldon (CA)
Bradley doesn’t really have a position on the floor, but that doesn’t mean he he doesn’t have an impact. A long, hyper athletic wing who impacts the game on the boards and in the passing lanes, Bradley is a stout on ball defender and a capable slasher to his dominant hand.
Jaxon VanCherie, 6-2 2022 G, Timpanogos (UT)
A strong, physical downhill guard who scores well through contact, VanCherie also hit a couple of tough shots from midrange in the win against Orange Glen. Very underrated passer and playmaker as well.
