<p>The excitement is brimming for Garden State basketball as scrimmages are getting under way. Players are looking to break out onto the scene, including forwards in South Jersey. Here are some of the South Jersey forward prospects with breakout potential in 2021-22.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="904675" first="Dut" last="Kuol"], 6’10 PF/C Olympus Prep 2022</strong></p>
<p>Kuol is capable of playing either the 4 or the 5 spot, making him eligible for this list. The lanky 6’10 forward runs the floor hard, setting himself up for easy shots around the basket. Kuol is developing his post-game around the basket and fights for offensive rebounds. He is a good interior defender as he uses his length and athleticism to swat shots. Kuol is a post prospect with a bright future with his ability to impact the game around the basket.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1016676" first="Landen" last="Shivers"], 6’8 PF Life Center Academy 2022</strong></p>
<p>Shivers has gotten off to a strong start this season and is looking to carry it over throughout the winter. The 6’8 forward has a nice touch around the basket and is capable of finishing above the rim strong. Shivers has a nice release on his jumper and can hit shots in the mid-range. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is an underrated rim-protector. Shivers is ready for a breakout campaign for Life Center Academy as he gets more touches on the interior.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="933732" first="Devon" last="Theophile"], 6’5 PF St. Joseph Academy 2023</strong></p>
<p>Theophile is in his second stint with St. Joseph and is set to man the post. The 6’5 forward has a strong frame which he uses to get position down low and draw contact. Theophile has a good touch around the basket and shows a nice release on his free throws. He is a solid rebounder and is an underrated post defender. Theophile is a hard-working post player who is unafraid of doing the dirty work down low.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1017191" first="Jake" last="Croce"], 6’5 SF Notre Dame 2023</strong></p>
<p>Croce is in store for a breakout junior campaign as he gets more looks on the offensive end. The 6’5 wing is at his best attacking the basket as he is a good finisher and can draw contact on his way to the basket. Croce is more than just a slasher as he can also hit jumpers on the perimeter and has a nice release. He is an underrated passer and works hard for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Croce is a solid forward prospect who is set for a bigger role in Notre Dame’s offense.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="901948" first="Wyatt" last="Hasselbauer"], 6’7 PF Manchester Township 2022</strong></p>
<p>Hasselbauer has been a part of the Hawks’ rotation since his freshman season and should continue to be a factor in the rotation this season. The 6’7 forward is a force on the glass as opponents have trouble boxing him out. Hasselbauer sets good screens in the half court and is a solid post defender. He has a nice touch around the basket and draws contact with regularity. Hasselbauer’s toughness and rebounding is something that will help him in a big way as the season moves along.</p>
