SC Class A Showdown: 2024-2025 Top Performers

<p>Earlier in the week Prep Hoops made the trip inland to Carvers Bay HS to attend the South Carolina Class A Showdown. The event consists of 14 teams from around the Palmetto State put together by Carvers Bay HS Head Coach Jeff Mezzatesta. Let’s take a look at some of the youngsters from 2024-2025 Classes in the event right here. </p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1088707" first="Travis" last="Wilson"] (2024) - Johnsonville HS (pictured on front)</strong></p> <p>Wilson was able to work from block to block and knock some people around while do just that. Travis helped the Golden Flashes to a (2-1) record in the 3-day event. Wilson has a great set of shoulders and really moves well with his quick feet around the paint. Lewis scored the ball from all 3 levels today with his play for the Flashes (yes same nickname). Camden has a bit of an old school game around the cup. Camden at times struggled today to finish but did score 11 points in the win over Bamberg-Ehrhardt HS. Trey moved around the floor well with his ability to run the floor and stay active in the paint. </p> <p><strong>Let’s sneak an 8th grader in here - [player_tooltip player_id="1314263" first="Jaden" last="Williams"] (2026) - Allendale-Fairfax HS </strong></p> <p>Williams is a left-handed guard for the Tigers and currently is in the 8th grade. Williams and the Tigers need time to grow for Head coach Coby Brandenburg down the road. Jaden is the younger brother of former Tigers player Shawn Jones.</p>
