Monday Night’s Standouts

<p>A Monday night basketball game is always a great time. These athletes were awake and ready for big performances.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Phil Nwugwo </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Victor High School 2022 -Nwugwo came up huge Monday night in a big win against a tough Thomas team. After a slow first quarter, Nwugwo scored 12 points in the second to help his team take the lead going into halftime. Currently averaging a double-double, Nwugwo ended the night with 33 points in a big-time 56-42 win.</span></p> <p><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">[player_tooltip player_id="1203160" first="Andrew" last="Quinn"] </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Webster Thomas High School 2022 - Quinn has been a massive surprise on the offensive side of the ball this year, averaging 20 points &amp; four assists. Defensively he has been asked to guard the best player each night on the opposing team, averaging two steals per contest. Monday night Quinn efficiently scored another 20 points in a tough loss to a well-coached Victor team.</span></p> <p><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Ryan Garwood </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Northstar Christian Academy 2022 - Garwood, a recent division 2 commit to Roberts Wesleyan College, had a nice night with 29 points in a blowout win over Bishop Kearney. Garwood has one of the best catch-and-shoot three-balls in NYS and showed it Monday night. He also ended the night with nine assists.</span></p> <p><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Reginald Pough </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Vertus High School 2024 - Reginald Pough, the sophomore forward from Vertus, had a coming-out party Monday night. Pough had a big double-double in a win over Finney 67-57. Pough dominated with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead his team.</span></p> <p><span data-preserver-spaces="true"> </span></p> <p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Jaedon Adams-Griffen </span></strong><span data-preserver-spaces="true">World of Inquiry 2025 - just a freshman, Adams-Griffen played significant time in a close game against Greece Olympia. Leading his team with twelve points, the freshman guard also ended the game with his first double-double finishing with ten rebounds.
