Sioux Falls, SD - The Warriors and the Tigers clashed tonight. Harrisburg was in control most of the night but Washington never quit and had a solid 4th quarter.

Final Score 69-57

Game Takeaways

The Tigers are strong and athletic. Harrisburg was getting into the paint all night. I loved how they pushed the tempo in transition, executed on sets, how they constantly got to the rim, and how often they went to the charity stripe. The Tiger JUG zone defense also looked good. For the Warriors, I was impressed with how they never gave up and they battled to the end. Washington played a deep bench late and they kept coming at the Tigers. This extra time for the substitutes may be important late in the season.

Top Tiger Players

[player_tooltip player_id="812217" first="Andrew" last="Walter"] (2022) |6-3 G|

He was slashing and knifing into the lane all night. His body control around the basket was notable. In the first half, Andrew impressed me with his impressive catch-and-rip drives. Walter is a gifted athlete and he is exceptional at getting to the line. Andrew also shined in transition. Walter was a standout player tonight!

[player_tooltip player_id="1270335" first="Jacoby" last="Mehrman"] (2024) |6-3 PG|

This young lefty is very physical. He is not afraid to take advantage of his size. Jacoby’s confidence for his young age is impressive. On defense he forced turnovers and he pushed the tempo in transition. He did not just push it on the bounce, Mehrman was not afraid to kick the ball ahead. It turned out well for the Tigers. Jacoby went to the block and posted when he had a mismatch and he did it perfectly. Mehrman is nothing but a star on the rise.

[player_tooltip player_id="963803" first="Ethan" last="Determan"] (2023) |6-2 G|

This junior shined tonight! Ethan showed great shooting form and skill on offense. Determan put up big points from getting to the FT-line and attacking the basket. Ethan is also a precision shooter. In the 4th quarter, Determan showed off his athleticism with an awesome spin-move on the baseline. He finished it with a long hang-timing one-handed finish. Take notice!

[player_tooltip player_id="968221" first="Gavin" last="Aasheim"] (2022) |6-0 G|

He is a quick kid. Gavin really attacked the paint hard. I liked the looks of his jab step. Aasheim is not afraid of contact, that is what got him to the line.

[player_tooltip player_id="1348899" first="Camden" last="Phipps"] (2024) |6-6 PF|

This big boy is a beast. He may be young, but Phipps is big and strong. He blocked and altered many shots. Camden is a scary rim protector. Phipps had multiple offensive rebound baskets.

Top Warrior Players

[player_tooltip player_id="812201" first="Mikele" last="Kambalo"] (2022) |5-9 PG|

He has unreal speed and quickness. Mikele has blow-by-moves that leave the D in the dust. Kambalo gets in the lane in a hurry. On defense, he has super quick feet. He fouled out late at the 1:58 mark. Mikele has a ton of potential and he can make dynamic plays in a hurry.

[player_tooltip player_id="968154" first="Joe" last="Uttecht"] (2022) |6-1 G|

I like the looks of this shooter. His stroke was true and smooth tonight. Joe has great feet and nice elevation on his jump shot. I liked how he moved without the ball, spaced the floor, and shot in rhythm. Uttecht did more than just shoot, he attacked the basket. Joe had a cool acrobatic finish in the 4th quarter. He also had a slick steal for a transition bucket. Joe also looks to be a solid defender. He is definitely a player to keep track of this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1227935" first="Gage" last="Gasca"] (2023) |6-7 PF|

He is a long and lanky player that hustles all over the court. I loved his aggressiveness on the offensive boards. Gage scored multiple points after snagging O-boards and putting them back in. He also alters and blocks shots with his length. Gasca had an impressive shot block when hustling back in transition defense in the second half. It is great to see the grit and hustle out of big men.

[player_tooltip player_id="1172924" first="Cole" last="Peterson"] (2023) |6-1 G|

He has good looking shooting form. Cole showed a nice move in the second half. He attacked the basket and hit a smooth leaning jumper with a defender in his face. This play showed me his craftiness, body control, and balance.

Kaden Schmidt (2023) |6-0 G|

He showed a nice in-rhythm 3-pointer from the corner. Keep an eye on Kaden as a real 3-point threat.

[player_tooltip player_id="968192" first="Patrick" last="Osborn"] (2022) |6-1 F|

I liked his effort and energy. Osborn showed great effort with an O-board bucket.
