I stopped by Coconut Creek High School for North Miami Beach @ Denmark. The game was part of the Sunshine State Basketball Explosion hosted by Charles Hendrix. The Danes would defeat the Chargers, 85-59.

Standouts:

Stefan Davidov - Denmark

2023 Stefan Davidov impressed me with his three-level scoring ability. The 6-foot-4 wing used his length all day to finish near the rim on lay-ins or drives to the basket. In addition, Davidov has the frame to extend and connect from the perimeter. I thought he wasted little motion from beyond the arc and played with confidence. Overall, Davidov has great ball control on all levels of the floor. He hit three 3-pointers and finished with 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id="1342564" first="Jayden" last="Hilliman"] - Denmark

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1342564" first="Jayden" last="Hilliman"] finished with 16 points by my account. The 6-foot-5 forward has solid length and did a nice job finishing near the rim. Hilliman has plenty of athleticism to be effective in and around the lane. I also liked 2022’s Makism Vinogradav and Andrew Meinhart. Both players have size at 6-foot-4 to attack the rim. Moreover, Vinogradav and Meinhart move well in the open floor. 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1205841" first="Kourtland" last="Tolbert"] played well at guard with 15 points.

Kaseam Purkiss/[player_tooltip player_id="829502" first="Tyrieke" last="Sterile"] - North Miami Beach

2022’s Kaseam Purkiss and [player_tooltip player_id="829502" first="Tyrieke" last="Sterile"] finished with 17 points and three 3-pointers each for North Miami Beach. Purkiss had his outside shot working and showed solid athleticism when attacking the rim. He has a nice finish and used his body well on layup attempts. I thought Sterile did a nice job with his mid-range jumper while hitting from outside after the first quarter. He has some size at guard and rebounds well. Sterile is averaging nearly 17 points and five boards per game.Purkiss is a shade under 12 points per contest while shooting 36 percent from deep.
