GAC-Suburban Challenge: Class of 2023 Standouts

<p>Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top Class of 2023 standouts from last Friday’s games at the GAC-Suburban Challenge at Lindenwood University in St Charles.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1161294" first="Jack" last="Fessenden"] 6’3 Troy: The talented shooting guard scored 22 points in the Trojans victory over Pattonville. He was on fire from long distance with five 3-pointers. I’ve also been impressed with how he’s emerging as an overall scoring threat who’s more than a shooter.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1071873" first="Nolan" last="Simon"] 5’11 Whitfield: The slashing combo guard scored 13 points in the Warriors victory over Fort Zumwalt North. He came up with a number of big buckets down the stretch. He is a fearless player who attacks the basket and can score in traffic.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1161296" first="Marcus" last="Coleman"] 6’2 MICDS: A versatile guard who scored 11 points in the Rams victory over Fort Zumwalt South. He’s a solid all-around player who can handle the point when he needs to or excel on the wing as a scoring threat.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1070113" first="Jack" last="Steinbach"] 6’0 Ladue: The talented point guard had 11 points, five rebounds and five assists in the Rams victory over Fort Zumwalt West. He’s is strong with the ball and he handles pressure very well. He’s an excellent team leader that does whatever is needed to make sure his team succeeds.</p> <p>Charlie Nett 6’0 Troy: The solid point guard scored 12 points in the Trojans victory over Pattonville. He was a big part of Troy’s 3-point shooting barrage as he knocked down four triples. He is also the Trojans primary ball handler in addition to his shooting.</p> <p>[player_tooltip player_id="1071871" first="Nick" last="Lewis"] 6’1 Whitfield: A young wing player who is an effective all purpose player. He scored 10 points in a victory over Fort Zumwalt West. He’s a good defender who could cover multiple positions on the court. He also rebounds well and scored in transition.</p> <p>Jaylen Swinney 6’6 Ladue: An athletic forward who had 10 points and nine rebounds in the Rams victory over Fort Zumwalt West. I was impressed with his rebounding as he was a tireless worker on the boards. He also ran the court hard in transition to get a few hustle buckets.</p>
