Carson Hegerle Carson Hegerle 6'3" | SG West Fargo | 2022 State NDHelping lead the 4-0 West Fargo Packers is star guard Carson Hegerle Carson Hegerle 6'3" | SG West Fargo | 2022 State ND . So far this season, the senior has showed an ability to knock down shots from deep, get to the rim with a series of skilled moves, and play tough hard nose defense. Carson is a great all around player who I expect to be nothing short of fantastic as the year moves along.
Michael Nhial Michael Nhial 6'7" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2022 State NDWhen it comes to explosive athletes in the state, senior guard Michael Nhial Michael Nhial 6'7" | SF West Fargo Sheyenne | 2022 State ND is near the top of that list. In the games I’ve seen of the 3-1 Mustang so far, he has been abusing the rim with jaw dropping dunks, snatching rebounds on both ends of the floor, and confidently pulling up from anywhere. As the season progresses I believe that Nhial is going to have no problem continuing this level of play, and that might just land him as a contender for EDC Player of the Year.
Paine Parks Paine Parks 6'3" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2022 State NDA guy that you always can rely on to be productive on a daily basis is senior guard Paine Parks Paine Parks 6'3" | SG Grand Forks Red River | 2022 State ND . The RoughRider this year has been scoring consistently, rebounding the ball well, and just helped lead his team to a important OT win over Shanley. Sitting at an even record, Paine will have to continue or heighten this production throughout the season if Red River wants to be in a good spot when the playoffs roll around.
James Hamilton James Hamilton 6'4" | SF Fargo South | 2024 State NDManning the helm for the 3-1 Fargo South Bruins this season has been sophomore guard James Hamilton James Hamilton 6'4" | SF Fargo South | 2024 State ND . In the four games he’s played, Hamilton has scored the ball well down low while also being a monster on the boards. As just a sophomore in high school, things will only go up from here for the rising star.
Ian Motschenbacher Ian Motschenbacher 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2022 State NDAnother guy that I believe has a chance to be EDC Player of the Year is Davies guard Ian Motschenbacher Ian Motschenbacher 6'1" | PG Fargo Davies | 2022 State ND . The Eagle has been fun to watch this season with his nifty moves at the rim, playmaking ability on both ends, and pace of play. I love the swagger and confidence that Ian plays with, and he is easily one of the best guards in all of Class A basketball. As of right now the Eagles are sitting at 3-1, and I don’t see many more losses coming their way.
Isaiah Schafer Isaiah Schafer 6'1" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State NDAs just a sophomore, Century Patriots guard Isaiah Schafer Isaiah Schafer 6'1" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State ND is making a huge splash in this early season. In just six games so far, all of them being wins, Schafer has made twenty nine shots from beyond the arc which is good for almost five per game. From what I’ve seen the youngster has an elite level stroke, moves well without the ball, and has good hands on defense. With this only being Isaiah’s second year in high school, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some shooting records broken in the years to come.
