Prep Hoops saw two full days of action from the CNHY Showcase at Cardinal Newman. Let’s dive into the action right here. Who were some of the 2023 Top Performers? Read more in this article on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State.

[player_tooltip player_id="865317" first="Greg" last="Jackson"] - Ridge View HS (pictured on front)

Greg does it all for the Blazers inside and outside. Jackson an extremely skilled big man can handle the rock like a guard, pass like a point guard, rebound on both ends of the floor, make shots on the perimeter - just does it all. Jackson finished with 20 points today in the win over the local Westwood Redhawks. Jackson is ranked the #1 player in the Palmetto State 2023 Class.

[player_tooltip player_id="1186672" first="Avantae" last="Parker"] - Gray Collegiate

Parker really likes to work the corner at times today with his perimeter shooting. Avantae a left-handed mobile forward can play inside-out on the floor for the War Eagles. He runs the floor like a deer and can cover plenty of grounds on both ends. Parker was able to drop a few three pointers from the corners today in the War Eagles win.

[player_tooltip player_id="975138" first="Arden" last="Conyers"] - Westwood HS

Conyers came to play for the Redhawks. Conyers a big wing feels very comfortable knocking down the mid-range jumper. Arden will put the ball on the deck when at times and feel comfortable doing just that. Conyers finished with 17 points in the loss today to Ridge View HS.

[player_tooltip player_id="865290" first="Merel" last="Burgess"] - Wilson HS (Florence)

Burgess a left-handed undersized post player has really slimmed down his frame. Burgess has a great set of hands to play inside-out on the floor. Merel will drop an elbow jumper or use a nice jump-hook in the paint to score. He really doesn’t get enough credit for his passing skills from the high post at times.

[player_tooltip player_id="1231789" first="Anthony" last="Robinson"] - Christ School (Arden, NC)

Robinson a Georgia native has great touch from foul line. Robinson a mobile forward is quick off the floor. Anthony ran on the Grassroots Circuit with Team Forrest. Robinson struggled at times with holding onto the ball and that just comes with added strength down the road.

Former Blythewood player [player_tooltip player_id="746053" first="Emmanuel" last="Richards"] now attends the Christ School (Arden, NC). Richards DNP in the contest and has since reclassified going to the Hoop State School into the 2023 class.
