[player_tooltip player_id="682280" first="Lucas" last="Lorenzen"] (Okoboji, 2022) - 35.4 points a game

A 6-5/6-6 power wing, Lorenzen has been absolutely dominant so far this season for the Pioneers, leading the state in scoring and pulling down 14.1 rebounds a game. The Dordt commit can score from all three levels but is at his best when he's using his big, physical frame to bully his way to the rim for finishes or to get to the free-throw line. He's averaging 11.6 free-throw attempts a game, which is by far the best in the state.

2.) [player_tooltip player_id="1167698" first="Jacob" last="Hargens"] (Sioux Central, 2023) - 25.9

A big, physical 6-3 wing, Hargens does a large majority of his scoring inside the arc. He has been a dominant rebounder (8.6 a game) in addition to his scoring and has the Rebels playing good ball heading into the break after a rough 0-3 start.

3.) [player_tooltip player_id="962684" first="Mason" last="Scheve"] (Pleasantville, 2022) - 25.0

An efficient off-ball guard, Scheve has taken his offensive game to another level this year, posting 58-48-77 shooting splits. He has a great feel for the game and understands when to attack, and he moves really well off the ball to find spaces in the defense.

4.) [player_tooltip player_id="962686" first="Caylor" last="Hoffer"] (Denver, 2022) - 24.4

Hoffer was the Cyclones' fourth scoring option last year on a team that was loaded with talented guards, but he has emerged as the go-to scorer this year, and has performed like a star. He has posted 50-41-81 shooting splits, showing his ability to score from all three levels at a highly efficient clip.

5.) [player_tooltip player_id="1253020" first="Zach" last="Lutmer"] (Central Lyon, 2023) - 24.1

One of the most talented all-around athletes in the state, Lutmer has helped lead the Lions to the #1 ranking in our 2A poll by leading the team in scoring and posting incredible 62-52-76 shooting splits. Also a very talented playmaking guard, he's dishing out 7.0 assists a night as well, which means that at a minimum, he's contributing 38 points a game to Central Lyon's explosive attack.

6.) [player_tooltip player_id="682290" first="Tanner" last="Te Slaa"] (Boyden-Hull, 2022) - 24.0

The future South Dakota State wing is the best player in 2A, and he has shown why so far this season, averaging 24.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.9 assists a game. A lanky, high IQ wing who can fill it up from all three levels, Te Slaa knows when to take over games as a scorer, defender, or facilitator.

7.) [player_tooltip player_id="1171659" first="Owen" last="Larson"] (Estherville Lincoln Central, 2023) - 23.9

The Midgets have been arguably the best story in the state so far this season, and the 6-1 sophomore lead guard has been the biggest reason why. A high IQ, efficient player, Larson is averaging 23.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.0 assists with incredible 55-47-91 shooting splits. He has a silky smooth jumper off the dribble, is a high-level ball-handler who can get to the rim, and is a gifted playmaker as well. He has shown why he's so highly regarded in the 2024 class.

8.) [player_tooltip player_id="962600" first="Caleb" last="Holmes"] (Hinton, 2022) - 23.3

Holmes has been one of the best scorers in 2A for a while now, and he's at it again this year. He's shown the ability to get to the rim at a high clip and finish efficiently, shooting 52.4% from the floor. The scary thing is that he's left some points on the board with decreased efficiency from the free-throw line and the arc. If he can get those numbers headed back in the right direction, he could be in line for a monstrous close to his senior season.

9.) [player_tooltip player_id="1067659" first="Padraig" last="Gallagher"] (Beckman Catholic, 2023) - 23.3

One of the most efficient scorers in the state, Gallagher has put up huge scoring numbers while posting 57-49-89 shooting splits and 9.4 rebounds a game. A 6-5 wing who can bully his way to the rim or bury 3s with a silky smooth stroke, he has one of the best all-around offensive skill sets in the state.

10.) [player_tooltip player_id="751418" first="Jayden" last="Mackie"] (Aplington-Parkersburg, 2022) - 23.0

It should come as no surprise that Mackie finds himself on this list, as he was dominant at the state tournament in March, and he has carried that explosiveness into his senior year. The Upper Iowa signee poured in 44 points in their win over South Hardin, displaying his remarkable efficiency in the process, shooting 18-23 from the floor. He's hitting at a 50% clip while putting up huge scoring numbers for one of 2A's best teams.
