Oswego East Trio Bring Firepower on Both Ends
UMSL commit Patrick Robinson Patrick Robinson 6'4" | SG Oswego East | 2022 State IL got things going early for the Wolves on Friday night. The strong bodied wing is a powerful player that scores with strength on the interior. He goes on straight line takes, posts up weaker defenders, and made quick passes on the interior. Also had several steals and rebounded well in a 10 point outing. Their 2023 6’5” combo forward Mekhi Lowery Mekhi Lowery 6'5" | SF Oswego East | 2023 State IL is so intriguing with his length and athleticism. Moves well without the ball scoring on back cuts, hits the glass for tip ins, and can create on his own off the bounce with long strides. Finished with 16 points. Low-majors and D2s should be tracking him. Devon Oregon Devon Oregon 6'0" | PG Oswego East | 2022 State IL was excellent in this game. The angular lefty point guard is a sound distributor in the drive and kick with slick handles getting through traffic for scores in transition and drained multiple threes in the second half. Active on ball defender. He had 17 points and would be a great pick up for a small college!
Depth for Oswego East
Speaking of small college prospects this Oswego East team is stacked with them. Darren Oregon is Devon’s brother and proved key early in the game knocking in a three, passing well, and getting steals. Tyler Jasek is a junior with good strength and size who had 5 points. Another 2023 we liked was Joey Patti. Lead guard that plays with a ton of flair dishing the rock and has shifty handles. Pushes in the open floor and makes some spectacular passes. Yet another junior to track is 6’6” power forward Ryan Johnson. Has some stretch ability and was active in the paint for 7 points.
Who Caught Our Eye for Oswego?
Despite the loss there were a couple of prospects that had nice outings. Their most productive player was Deakon Tonielli. The Oswego power forward is a star on the gridiron so that will be his future at the next level, but he scored 16 points in this game. Drained a trio from deep. Strong build that fought on the glass for put backs. Max Niesman is a guard that got it going in the second half after a slow first two quarters. Pushed it in transition and hit a couple threes. The junior should find a home at the small college level. Jordan Brooks Jordan Brooks 6'2" | SG West Aurora | 2024 State IL has some pop as a 6’0” 2024 combo guard. Lefty has shot making ability along with quickness off the bounce and is a solid defender. Went for 9 points
