With the season underway in just a few weeks teams are starting to really pick things up as the season will be in full swing. One of the tournaments/showcases that usually gets things started in Utah is the UVU Tip-Off that usually features some impressive teams that are local. Here is the list and who to keep an eye on prospect wise,

Wasatch Academy

This team is absolutely loaded as always. Sleeper unsigned 2022 prospect is [player_tooltip player_id="1316414" first="Matus" last="Hronsky"] who has positional height at the wing position. [player_tooltip player_id="935804" first="Keba" last="Keita"] is another player that will pick up offers as soon as he gets more eyes on him. Everyone else on this list is signed. The only other player that is available is [player_tooltip player_id="674422" first="Koren" last="Johnson"] who de-committed from San Diego State and has opened his recruiting.

Key Players: 6’8 SF [player_tooltip player_id="711697" first="Chris" last="Bunch"], 6’5 SG [player_tooltip player_id="1129639" first="Roddy" last="Gayle"], 6’5 SF [player_tooltip player_id="850703" first="Camden" last="Heide"], 6’8 SF [player_tooltip player_id="1316414" first="Matus" last="Hronsky"], 6’9 C [player_tooltip player_id="935804" first="Keba" last="Keita"], 6’2 PG [player_tooltip player_id="674422" first="Koren" last="Johnson"]

Timpanogos

Timpanogos has a new coach but they return one of the premier prospects in the Class of 2023 in [player_tooltip player_id="969630" first="Bron" last="Roberts"] who has major upside and ceiling as a Division 1 prospect. Bron has a some offers from local schools but a really solid offer from Stanford. [player_tooltip player_id="968772" first="Jaxon" last="Vanchiere"] is a solid returner that will need to be productive on both ends of the floor.

Key Players; 6’11 SF [player_tooltip player_id="969630" first="Bron" last="Roberts"], 6’2 G [player_tooltip player_id="968772" first="Jaxon" last="Vanchiere"]

Orem

Orem is one of those teams looking to rebound and they have a roster that can do that with the height and shooting of [player_tooltip player_id="1127232" first="Dane" last="Christensen"]. This prospect can really pull his defenders out and make them play out in the perimeter. [player_tooltip player_id="1127234" first="Nick" last="Clark"] is solid and he can run on the ball and off the ball as well.

Key Players: 6’7 SF [player_tooltip player_id="1127232" first="Dane" last="Christensen"], 6’3 G [player_tooltip player_id="1127234" first="Nick" last="Clark"]

RSL Academy

RSL Academy is in a nice transition year and they will have a major schedule to prove that they are a team to fear. [player_tooltip player_id="1057044" first="David" last="Katoa"] is more mature yet he is only a sophomore. He is shooting the ball well and he continues to be a solid two-way player. [player_tooltip player_id="868223" first="Dravyn" last="Gibbs-Lawhorn"] is impressive and it will be fun to watch him play a real game that will be officiated in a way that players cannot foul and prod him. One of the best guards in the country.

Key Players: 6’3 G [player_tooltip player_id="1057044" first="David" last="Katoa"], 6’2 PG [player_tooltip player_id="868223" first="Dravyn" last="Gibbs-Lawhorn"]

Ridgeline

Coming fresh off of a football state championship Ridgeline looks to start off the basketball season just as football ended, with a win. [player_tooltip player_id="967688" first="Peyton" last="Knowles"] is a sleeper athlete that can really rebound and play with such a high motor at 6’6. Kden Cox will be one of the best shooters in the state and once he gets his basketball legs back from playing QB he will be a tough cover.

Key Players: 6’6 SF [player_tooltip player_id="967688" first="Peyton" last="Knowles"], 6’1 SG [player_tooltip player_id="934474" first="Kaden" last="Cox"]

Timpview

Timpview is somewhat of a mystery coming into the season. They do have a new coach but they do have one of the best big guards in the Class of 2023 in [player_tooltip player_id="934031" first="James" last="Rust"] who is a solid three-level scorer.

Key Players: 6’5 G [player_tooltip player_id="934031" first="James" last="Rust"]
