When [player_tooltip player_id="958611" first="Michael" last="Niemann"] gets hot there is no stopping him and The Colony Cougars found that out the hard way. Neimann went off for 21 points by hitting multiple three-pointers, faking defenders out, and getting inside for mid-range elbow jumpers and floaters. The offensive prowess he provided was a marvel to watch, effective jab step, quick first step, good ball skills, nice footwork, along with his knack for creating space with very few dribbles was pure and well-polished. [player_tooltip player_id="958611" first="Michael" last="Niemann"] also put his speed on full display and burnt past defenders when tightly guarded, getting to his spots before quickly and smoothly going into his shooting motion.

<span data-tt="{"paragraphStyle":{"alignment":4,"writingDirection":1}}">[player_tooltip player_id="1328110" first="Jakob" last="Zenon"] got the season started off on a high note with a 21 point, 7 rebound performance. Zenon was letting it fly from downtown, nailing 3 of his many attempts. The senior two-guard constantly found himself in the right spot on both ends of the court, often leading to quick and easy layups or deflected throws in the passing lanes. Quality motor, Zenon competed and never gave up on a play or took a possession off, he hustled after several 50/50 balls whether they were out of reach or not. While scoring from all three levels of the floor, [player_tooltip player_id="1328110" first="Jakob" last="Zenon"] showed off his college range along with a nice and sweet touch on his jumper off the catch, and also when fading away. Zenon displayed a very high arcing release that most defenders weren’t able to contest effectively. The lengthy strides and stretches he used allowed him to excel on the dribble drive and finish through traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id="889585" first="Noah" last="Shelby"] | Point Guard | Greenhill School | C/o ’22

Future Vanderbilt Commodore, [player_tooltip player_id="889585" first="Noah" last="Shelby"] put on a show with his incredible shooting talent at the Cowtown Showdown in his back and forth face-off against Texas-ranked senior [player_tooltip player_id="1231317" first="Brendan" last="Hausen"]. Shelby controlled the game as well as his tempo, playing at his own speed and baiting the defense into doing whatever he wanted them to. This gifted three-point specialist dropped 31 points as he hammered home 8 three-point bombs. [player_tooltip player_id="889585" first="Noah" last="Shelby"] was as hot as ever, an absolutely unconscious sniper with range that extended out to the halfcourt logo. The senior guard stopped on a dime and shot it with little to no space and continued to come up big, Amarillo had no answer for Shelby’s shooting stroke beyond the arc, they never saw the pull-up jumpers coming, Noah consistently threw his defenders off with his deceptive gather, hesitation stop and pop. Although Greenhill fell short of victory, [player_tooltip player_id="889585" first="Noah" last="Shelby"] stood out and showed everyone why he’s one of the most feared shooters in the state.
