<p><em>ALEXANDRIA, VA</em> -- Two of the top-10 teams in our power rankings met on Tuesday night for a preseason tune-up. Here are some observations from this high-level contest. </p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="962791" first="Elliott" last="Black"] - forward - SSSAS ’22</strong> Continues to show confidence in the 15-foot jumper. Made a handful of shots, some from the catch and others from off the bounce.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="848406" first="Logan" last="Blair"] - wing - St. John’s ’22</strong> Defended multiple positions effectively. Looked to slash to the basket where he finished in traffic on a few occasions.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1221450" first="Garrett" last="Brennan"] - guard - SSSAS ’22</strong> Defended with tenacity. Made countless hustle plays. Communicated with his teammates.</p>
<p class="p1"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="902006" first="Devin" last="Ceaser"] - guard - SSSAS ’22</strong> - Showcased his top-tier athleticism. Played with a high motor nonstop. Consistently created space. Made extremely difficult shots. Finished through contact.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p><strong>Cole Cosby - wing - SSSAS ’23</strong> - A knockdown shooter from three. Has a quick release and a compact shooting motion. Competes defensively.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1049867" first="Anthony" last="Davenport"] - forward - St. John’s ’23</strong> - Growing into a dependable pick and pop threat. Rebounded it in traffic.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="904626" first="Shane" last="Lancaster"] - guard - St. John’s ’22</strong> - Shot it well from the corners. Aggressively hunted paint touches. Had multiple finishes through contact.</p>
<p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="957026" first="Malik" last="Mack"] - guard - St. John’s ’23</strong> - Got wherever he wanted to on the court. Changed speeds well, was a threat from the in-between areas. Got others involved. Played smart defense.</p>
<p><strong>Jack Murphy - guard - SSSAS ’22</strong> - Handled it well. Rebounded his position. Not afraid to mix it up and fight for 50/50’s.</p>
<p class="p1"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1127309" first="Donavan" last="Freeman"] - forward - St. John’s ’24</strong> - Was locked in throughout. Played unbelievable defense both on and off the ball. Rebounded out of his area. Blocked and altered a host of shots. Made floor dives. Dunked the ball whenever he could. Scored efficiently from the mid-range areas.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>

<p class="p1"><strong>Pete Newman - guard - St. John’s ’25</strong> - Long and rangy. Does a bit of everything well. Created space with a step back before knocking down a three.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
