Region 7-AAA has just 5 teams in the region. Who will be the team to beat this coming season ? Who is the top player in this region ? Prep Hoops has the answer to some of those questions right here.

Prep Hoops Predictions:

1.Dillon HS - The Wildcats look to be the favorites here with [player_tooltip player_id="1123199" first="Demarco" last="Bethea"] back in the mix. The Wildcats were perfect in region play at (5-0) and (8-2) overall.

2.Georgetown HS - The Bulldogs finished (5-5) last season under Head Coach Eric Sparkman.

3.Loris HS - Will the Lions creep up on the competition this season ?

4.Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island) - The Warriors and Head Coach Mike Quinn were (6-6) last year.

5.Aynor HS - The Blue Jackets finished (2-7) last year. The Blue Jackets are currently in Round 2 of the football playoffs.

[player_tooltip player_id="1123199" first="Demarco" last="Bethea"] (2022) - Dillon HS - Prep Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year

Bethea averaged 20.8 ppg, 12.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks last season for the Wildcats. Bethea can play forward positions on the floor. Demarco runs the floor well and at times glides to his spots in transition.

[player_tooltip player_id="1123245" first="Chris" last="Wright"] (2022) - Dillon HS

Wright and [player_tooltip player_id="1123199" first="Demarco" last="Bethea"] will provide a good 1-2 punch this season for the Wildcats. Chris can attack the cup or stop and pop with a short jumper.

[player_tooltip player_id="594070" first="Tyvon" last="Richardson"] (2022) - Georgetown HS

Richardson a slender-sleek left-handed forward is back for the Bulldogs this season. Richardson averaged 12.8 ppg from the wing position last season. Tyvon must get stronger and be able to finish through contact better at times.

[player_tooltip player_id="930631" first="Jaquon" last="Dewitt"] (2022) - Loris HS

The Lions offense runs through Dewitt in the backcourt. Dewitt plays the game at a good pace and doesn’t mind playing the game with a few floor burns from time to time.

Duke Bellamy (2023) - Loris HS

Bellamy is a multi-sport athlete for the Lions. Duke plays on the football who just concluded its season with a playoff loss to Gilbert HS. Bellamy will run the Lions offense from out top this season.

Aaron Williams (2022) - Georgetown HS

Williams will look to build on his stats from last season where he averaged 7.8 ppg for the Bulldogs. Williams likes to slash to the cup and will settle for some jumpers from time to time. Williams stays very active at all times on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="1088705" first="Shyheim" last="Smalls"] (2022) - Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island)

Smalls had some good moments last season for the Warriors down on the Grand Strand. Smalls seems best suited off the ball dropping floaters or perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1261875" first="Xander" last="Fairbanks"] (2023) - Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island)

Fairbanks showed some glimpses this summer on the Grassroots Circuit with the Confidence Cougars. Fairbanks does a good job playing around the paint and staying active. Xander will score some of his buckets with just effort on put-backs.
