<p>Region 6-AAAAA is a beach region with the exception of Sumter HS. Who will be the team to beat here this season? Read more inside your leader in basketball coverage from the Palmetto State all season long. Region 6-AAAAA looks to be a heavy dominated SENIOR region this season. </p> <p><em><strong>Prep Hoops Predictions: </strong></em></p> <p>Carolina Forest HS - The Panthers added a transfer in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930602" first="Seth" last="DeBruhl"]</strong> from Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. The Panthers up-tempo style could really put up some numbers this season. </p> <p>Conway HS - The Tigers have had a great class come up together. Can Mike Hopkins take this next step to Aiken come March? </p> <p>Sumter HS - The Gamecocks will make several drives to the Grand Strand this coming season. </p> <p>Socastee HS - The Braves lost Mike Herrin to graduation. [player_tooltip player_id="930620" first="<strong>Trey" last="McManus</strong>"] is back in the Upstate. Who will be the go-to guy for the Braves? </p> <p>St James HS - The Sharks will need to find someone to step up this season. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930633" first="Jonah" last="Nesmith"] (2022) - Carolina Forest HS - Prep Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year (pictured on front)</strong></p> <p>Nesmith had a good summer on the Under Armour Circuit with Flight 22. Nesmith a rangy wing player can knockdown shots out on the perimeter. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/07/1ED4D066-6D33-4168-9D3E-0DF3E7616544.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1238651" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/07/1ED4D066-6D33-4168-9D3E-0DF3E7616544-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930602" first="Seth" last="DeBruhl"] (2022) - Carolina Forest HS </strong></p> <p>DeBruhl will be a welcome addition to the Panthers roster with his ability to make shots on the perimeter. DeBruhl a left-handed guard has played his whole high school career at Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach before this season. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/C269C0AD-1068-4912-B512-2D18BA04FE13.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1071467" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/10/C269C0AD-1068-4912-B512-2D18BA04FE13-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930615" first="Mikah" last="Nelson"] (2022) - Carolina Forest HS </strong></p> <p>Nelson needs to get locked in and stay focused for the Panthers. Mikah does a great job playing around the middle and inside the paint. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/5770E6A1-5447-4113-8931-3063F996AF97.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1173665" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/04/5770E6A1-5447-4113-8931-3063F996AF97-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1149782" first="Wesley" last="Fletcher-Cox"] (2022) - Carolina Forest HS</strong></p> <p>Fletcher-Cox is the ultimate GLUE guy does all the little things to help your squad win games. Wesley at times plays bigger than his size down on the glass. Fletcher-Cox is most effective around the paint. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/3E9F1214-591E-4F3E-BCD1-FA83E1E911C0.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1297333" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/09/3E9F1214-591E-4F3E-BCD1-FA83E1E911C0-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930619" first="EJ" last="Huffman"] (2022) - Conway HS </strong></p> <p>EJ is finally a senior now and it seems like yesterday he was in the game for the Tigers as a freshman. Huffman just brings a great attitude and edge to the floor at times. EJ will rebound the ball and now take the ball up the court in transition without blinking an eye. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/69031FDE-D8C0-49AE-9F82-004993A73EA9.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1128076" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/69031FDE-D8C0-49AE-9F82-004993A73EA9-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="930614" first="Carlton" last="Terry Jr"] (2022) - Conway HS </strong></p> <p>Nicknamed "CT" is a jet quick guard from end to end. Terry likes to play fast and this football season made the transition to wide receiver. This Tigers bunch as plenty of experience to make a run like a few years back when they lost in the Lower State Finals to Dutch Fork HS.</p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/5D6FF118-089F-42E4-BE3B-282923A068E5.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1132451" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/5D6FF118-089F-42E4-BE3B-282923A068E5-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="837351" first="Nakeem" last="Isaac"] (2022) - Sumter HS </strong></p> <p>Isaac looks like he grown man at times with his frame. Nakeem can physically overpower players to the cup and rack. Nakeem is versatile enough at times to handle the rock out front, knockdown 3 pointers or post-up in the paint. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/11/CAA3E2D4-4035-4401-91B7-F3FAAA0F6FDC.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1088647" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2020/11/CAA3E2D4-4035-4401-91B7-F3FAAA0F6FDC-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1080955" first="Justin" last="Alquiza"] (2022) - Socastee HS </strong></p> <p>Alquiza will have to step-up this season for the Braves with some players graduating. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/CC166CA3-A005-4B64-B4B9-B4DA140F6094.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1190200" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/05/CC166CA3-A005-4B64-B4B9-B4DA140F6094-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1016450" first="Jasaan" last="Faulkner"] (2024) - St James HS </strong></p> <p>Faulkner will lead a very inexperienced roster this season for the Sharks. Jasaan saw good minutes from the backcourt last season as a freshman. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/1A9C2E22-3F82-4773-B920-707CF9DDDE18.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1132449" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/02/1A9C2E22-3F82-4773-B920-707CF9DDDE18-300x225.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1088708" first="Caleb" last="Jenkins"] (2024) - Sumter HS </strong></p> <p>Jankins might be small in size but not in heart for the Gamecocks. Caleb is a shifty guard who really likes to swarm the ball on the defensive end of the floor. Jankins plays the game with a great deal of confidence on the floor. </p> <p><a href="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/07/BEB30233-163C-436E-8B7E-346368008613-crop-3505x2302-1626076558.jpeg"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1234843" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/ph/uploads/2021/07/BEB30233-163C-436E-8B7E-346368008613-crop-3505x2302-1626076558-300x197.jpeg" alt="" width="300" height="197" /></a></p> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="1016448" first="Devin" last="Grainger"] (2024) - Conway HS </strong></p> <p>Grainger is another great athlete to come out of the Tigers program. Devin played Quarterback this past football season for the Tigers. Grainger a left-handed guard really looks to get the ball out in transition and downhill. </p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
