Region 2

Champion: Cyprus High School

Cyprus High School last season was talented and the bad thing for other teams is that they return all of their talent. They will be lead by [player_tooltip player_id="934030" first="Quentin" last="Meza"] who is starting to really reach a new level. Quentin will be in the discussion of one of the best players in the state regardless of class. Quentin also returns a back-court mate in [player_tooltip player_id="1057025" first="Diego" last="Mulford"] who is not just out there shooting three’s. He looks good going to the basket and moving off the dribble. He is shooting with longer range. With so many pieces Cyprus should win region but they should also compete for a state title. [player_tooltip player_id="1257172" first="Justus" last="Jackson-Fobbs"] is a solid big coming back as is [player_tooltip player_id="967705" first="MJ" last="Tia"]. Not sure many teams return most of their core like Cyprus does.

Region 2 MVP: [player_tooltip player_id="934030" first="Quentin" last="Meza"] || Cyprus High School ||

[player_tooltip player_id="934030" first="Quentin" last="Meza"] has really stepped up his all-around game. He is competing on both ends of the floor. When not pressured he can really get anything he wants on the floor. Look for him to really increase his overall stats like, steals, assist and rebounds. Quentin will be tough to stop, maybe someone will have luck slowing him down.

Defensive Player of the Years: [player_tooltip player_id="934492" first="Gott" last="Daw"] || Kearns High School ||

When you have a player that can virtually switch 1-5 and hold his own that equates to a good defender. Gott rebounds and runs the floor and he can contest any shot anywhere on the floor.

Offensive Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id="1057025" first="Diego" last="Mulford"] || Cyprys High School ||

Something has to give on a team that is loaded with talent and we think Diego is going to light it up this year. Not only will he get to the rim and make big buckets from deep. He will get to the free-throw-line a lot. Big time scorer in the class of 2024.

Breakout Player of the Year: [player_tooltip player_id="967721" first="Darius" last="Henderson"] || Hunter High School ||

Darius has the ability to really make a big jump in his play. At 10 PPG and only 28 three’s last season look for Darius to score in the upper teens and increase his scoring from the outside as he will be in the mid 30’s. Could be a immediate impact player on the right team at the college level as well.

Consistent Player of the Years: [player_tooltip player_id="967690" first="John" last="Gavin"] || Taylorsville High School ||

When you look across the board on various teams in the region you can see that some school have players that can absolutely go off at any time. Not that [player_tooltip player_id="967690" first="John" last="Gavin"] can’t but he is more on the consistent side. He rebounds well and he is shooting well. He could really be the quietest 20 PPG in the region.
