Player Spotlight: Beckham Black (Texas)

One of the premier spots to find talent right now is Texas. There is so much talent and potential that is oozing out of that state. Finding them early to help develop their skills to go along with their talent is big time. Here is our interview with Beckham Black. <strong>You have recently been getting some hype as a young prospect, how has that been?</strong> I am really humble about it because not everyone gets a chance to be in the spotlight, but I also understand that not everybody is going to like me. I really just want to work hard and get better. <strong>What is something that drives you to get better?</strong> One of the things that drives me to get better is my brother (Anthony Black). He keeps me in check to make sure that I don't stop working. <strong>How would you describe your game?</strong> I would just describe my game as a scoring PG. <strong>What are you currently working on to get better?</strong> I'm working on my defense and being more disciplined. <strong>What is basketball like in your area?</strong> Basketball in Duncanville is tough. We have the best 7th graders in Dallas. <strong>Are there any local legends you look up to out there in Dallas?</strong> I look up to Cade Cunningham, he's just a really good player to look up to. I like the way he plays and I like his game as well. <strong>Where do you get that drive to get better?</strong> My brother for sure. <strong>Do you have a dream school?</strong> Honestly, my dream college will end up being wherever my brother ends up playing. <strong>What Player do you pattern your game after?</strong> I want to play like my brother Anthony Black. I feel like I just want to be like him on and off the court. <strong>Do you play any other sports besides basketball?</strong> Right now I just play basketball. I did play baseball and football for a while but I have decided to just focus on basketball. <strong>What's your favorite go to move?</strong> A hesi-snatch. <strong>Any athletes in the family?</strong> Yes, everyone in the family is or was an athlete. Even my step-brothers and sisters are athletes. <strong>What is your favorite place to eat at in Dallas and what is your favorite home-cooked meal?</strong> My favorite place to go eat at is Pappadeaux's (Seafood Kitchen) and my favorite home-cooked meal is spaghetti. <strong>Your big brother has major game, what has he taught you and how has he impacted your game?</strong> He has taught me how to finish around the rim with contact and working on different finishes around the rim as well as a variety of floaters. <hr /> <strong>Breakdown</strong> Beckham has game! He is shifty with the ball in his hands and he has it on a string. Playing for 3D Empire which is the best independent grassroots team in the country he is in good hands when it comes to teaching IQ and developing skills. Love the swag in this kid's game and he can score at all three levels already. Beckham Black definitely has NEXT.
