Continue ReadingThe Indiana high school season is right around the corner and we at Prep Hoops Indiana will be out and about to cover nearly the entire state all season long. With the season about to start, it is now a good time as any to preview the players that will be showcasing their talents all year. Today, we take a look at a few 2023 PFs to watch for.
JaQualon Roberts JaQualon Roberts 6'8" | PF Bloomington North | 2023 State IN – 6’7 – Bloomington North: At 6’7 and truly one of the most natural athletes we have, Roberts’ game has improved so much and that has made him one of the most sought after players in the 2023 class. Recruitment has skyrocketed since the summer with schools such as Indiana, Cincinnati, Xavier, Butler, and so many others in the mix right now. He is a player that can do a little bit of everything on both ends with an improving outside jumper. Bloomington North has a well built team this season and Roberts will be one of the guys that has all the eyes on him. Expect a monster high school season from him.
Keaton Buuck Keaton Buuck 6'6" | PF Crown Point | 2023 IN – 6’6 – Crown Point: Buuck is a true power forward with a smooth touch around the rim. Saw him a few times during the grassroots season and noticed a good amount of improvement with his game from the start of the spring toward the end of the summer as he was playing quicker and the pick-and-roll game was still money for him. He comes into this season as the main man in the frontcourt for what should be a offensive heavy Crown Point team. Buuck has a lot of tools to work with fundamentally and ready to see him take his game to the next level, that being spacing the floor a bit more. One of the bigs I am very interested in watching this season.
Anthony Ball Anthony Ball 6'6" | PF Decatur Central | 2023 State IN – 6’5 – Beech Grove: If you want to talk about players that improved their overall game in the 2023 class, Ball should be towards the top of that list. Just so dominant on both ends and is constantly bringing the energy and aggressiveness. He is transferring to Beach Grove from Southport, which will be a huge boost to a Hornets team that went 18-6 last season. Expecting a huge, continued breakout year for Ball.
Preston Ross Preston Ross 6'8" | PF Bishop Dwenger | 2023 State IN – 6’8 – Bishop Dwenger: Ross is a big power forward that moves very well for his size. Has a solid amount of athleticism and rebounds well on both ends. He is a raw prospect with a ton of tools that coaches can work with at the next level. He is one of the few guys that we feel can have a big breakout season soon rather than later.
Taysire Williams Taysire Williams 6'5" | PF Jimtown | 2023 IN – 6’5 – Jimtown: Williams was one guy that caught my eye big time this past summer. Very, very dominant player on both ends with true raw talent around the basket. He is a walking double-double with the size, strength, athleticism, and motor to compete with anyone. Williams is very under-the-radar but is guy to get to know. Small colleges need to be all over this guy because he has a chance to be a steal.
