Non-public B has been the top basketball group in the Garden State, winning the last 5 Tournament of Champions crowns. The available talent got smaller over the weekend as Roselle Catholic guard [player_tooltip player_id="1025905" first="Jamarques" last="Lawrence"] committed to Nebraska. The section is still filled with talented players who should make an impact at the next level. Here are the top 2022 available prospects in Non-Public B.

[player_tooltip player_id="901974" first="Donovan" last="Long"], 6’6 SF Rutgers Prep

Long is the top available prospect in Non-Public B and is ready for a big senior season for the Argonauts. The 6’6 forward is a good finisher around the rim and can draw contact. Long has a nice release on his free throw and is working on his range. He is a strong rebounder and makes plays on the defensive end. Long is a lanky two-way wing prospect who will be a key player for Rutgers Prep in 2021-22.

[player_tooltip player_id="901961" first="Ryan" last="Petit"], 6’2 SG Rutgers Prep

Petit returns in the backcourt for the Argonauts and is the ultimate glue guy. The 6’2 lefty is unafraid of taking a charge on the defensive end and gives up his body diving for loose balls on both ends of the floor. Petit makes good decisions with the ball in his hands and an underrated handle. He has a good shooting stroke and sets his feet before he shoots. Petit is a gritty shooting guard prospect that makes winning plays for Rutgers Prep.

[player_tooltip player_id="931029" first="Chase" last="Clarke"], 6’5 SF Newark Academy

Clarke has been putting up monster numbers for Newark Academy over the past two seasons and it should continue in his final varsity season. The 6’5 forward has a strong frame which he uses to make layups through traffic and can finish with authority above the rim. Clarke can score in the mid-range and is developing his jumper from distance. He skies for rebounds on both ends of the floor and has the athleticism to defend multiple positions. Clarke is a high-scoring forward prospect who should be among the top scorers in New Jersey again in 2021-22.

[player_tooltip player_id="901992" first="Braxton" last="Jones"], 6’0 PG Roselle Catholic

Jones is part of a talented Lions’ backcourt, but he should still be able to make an impact. The 6’0 guard is a marksman from distance as he has a quick release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Jones is more than just a shooter as he can also finish around the basket and has an underrated handle. He is capable of running the offense and moves his feet on the defensive end. Jones’ ability to hit shots from distance is something that will help Roselle Catholic in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id="901973" first="Brandon" last="Klatsky"], 6’3 SG Ranney

Klatsky will be tasked with a much bigger role this season after the Panthers lost three of the their top five scorers from last year. The 6’3 guard is a knockdown shooter from deep as he has a quick release and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Klatsky moves well off the ball and is very unselfish with the ball in his hands. He is a good help defender as he gets himself in position to take charges on defense. Klatsky will be relied upon to up his scoring in a big way for Ranney if the Panthers want to take home the Shore Conference title this season.
