The PH class of 2023 Rankings are updated. Here’s a closer look at the positional rankings of the SG’s in NorCal. This is a solid group of players who’ll most likely assume different roles with their high school team versus their club team, and next level projection.

[player_tooltip player_id="950890" first="Courtney" last="Anderson"], 6’4 of Dublin HS.

Anderson one of NorCal’s top prospects in this class. His athleticism is starting to show as he develops, and gets stronger. Being in the class of 2023 he’s on track. He sports a good looking jump shot with 3-point range, and good lift on the mid-range jumper. His improved handles, along with his length allows him to challenge the bigs at the rim. His numbers should tick up this season. He has multiple DI offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="951341" first="Yaqub" last="Mir"] 6’3, of Granite Bay HS.

Mir might fall into the combo guard as he’s a productive player at this point, as long as he’s on the court. The calm high IQ player doesn’t seem to rattle in pressure situations. You might call his number when the games on the line. He’s one of the better shooters in NorCal with good shot selection from 3 and mid-range. He’s a good handler and decision maker. He has DI offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1115391" first="Jalen" last="Brown"] 6’3, of Everett Alvarez HS.

Brown does everything on his HS team. The athletic guard is only going to get better. He has a good understanding of the game, and he has the ability to take over at times. He’s comfortable handling the ball, and usually gets himself into scoring position. He’s an explosive type of player going to the basket. He only needs a small opening. He has an outside shot you have to respect.

[player_tooltip player_id="1232327" first="Andrej" last="Stojakovic"] 6’6, of Jesuit HS.

Stojakovic is a rising prospect with good overall skills. He has a good understanding of the game. We might see him rise to another level. He kind of fits the position-less label right now. He can be a facilitator at times, yet he works the perimeter like a shooter. He fills the lanes well, and will make his way to the basket in different ways. We expect he’ll get DI offers.

[player_tooltip player_id="1119287" first="Pasha" last="Goodarzi"] 6’3, of Valley Christian HS. San Jose.

Goodarzi plays the role of shooter when he’s on the court. He sprints the court in transition looking to spot up somewhere behind the 3-point line. He has what you might call (no conscience) and lots of confidence, whether he’s coming off screens or spotting up on the catch and shoot, he’s looking to knock one down.

[player_tooltip player_id="1253099" first="Jacob" last="Olson"] 6’4, of Oak Ridge HS.

Olson surprised us recently. He spent a fair amount of time bringing the ball up the court. With his improved handles, and a good looking jump shot, he adds balance to an already solid game. He’s a scoring guard who gets to his spots. He uses the dribble drive jumper with good lift. He’ll take the big shot.

[player_tooltip player_id="950887" first="Logan" last="Robeson"] 6’3, of Campolindo HS.

We haven’t seen a lot of Robeson. His club team spent a lot of time out of state on the UA Circuit. All indications are he’s ready to help Campolindo make a deep run with his savviness, and shooting behind the 3-point line. He can go 5/5 in a game when he gets it going.

[player_tooltip player_id="1253120" first="Matthew" last="Schroeder"], 6’2 of Whitney HS.

Schroeder might fit the combo guard more closely than others in this group. He brings good intensity to the court. While being a steady ball handler, and passer. Schroeder is effective on both ends of the court. He posses one of the better shots when he’s lining up behind the 3-point line.

[player_tooltip player_id="1253155" first="Amos" last="Hodgson IV"], 6’2 of Bishop O’Dowd HS.

Hodgson is more than ready to pick up the slack in scoring this coming season at O’Dowd. He’ll get every opportunity to show off his non stop motor. He plays the game fast, takes on a lot of contact, and can score in transition or in half court sets. He uses his dribble, has the speed, and toughness to finish when he’s in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id="950917" first="Colton" last="Dukes"], 6’1 of Atwater HS.

A solid guard who doesn’t mind making the extra pass. He handles in open court, changes directions on his way to the hoop. He has a good looking shot when he spots up behind the 3-point line, and he goes hard on the dribble drive pull-up jumper. He’s not super fast but has good body control, and movements to throw defenders off balance. 14.9 pts in 10 games of HS
