We have reached the point in the calendar year for preseason superlatives. Today, I would like to highlight my picks for Palm Beach County. If you’ve been following along, the region lost a ton of quality players from the 2021 class.

That just means new picks are on the way.

[player_tooltip player_id="709251" first="Nate" last="Sasser"] – Suncoast

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="709251" first="Nate" last="Sasser"] is good enough at this stage to impact multiple positions. His size and athleticism are going to cause problems for opponents this season. The 6-foot-6 guard/forward averaged 9.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Sasser might be the best player in the county.

[player_tooltip player_id="1053915" first="Stone" last="Bureau"] – Suncoast

2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1053915" first="Stone" last="Bureau"] is an all-around point guard for the Chargers. The 6-foot Bureau can dribble penetrate and score off the dribble with regularity. His athleticism and vision to make plays in motion is very impressive. Bureau is also a superb on-ball defender with good placement and quick hands. Bureau averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 3.1 steals per game as a freshman.

[player_tooltip player_id="956782" first="Conner" last="Weston"] – Jupiter

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="956782" first="Conner" last="Weston"] moves over to Jupiter after spending his junior season at Jupiter Christian. With the Eagles, Weston averaged 17.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He’s a tough kid with power around the glass. Moreover, his muscle at the forward spot is tough to handle for 32 minutes. Weston will fight and scrap with anyone in the paint. Watch out for his outside shooting as well. Weston’s addition into the Warriors lineup will make an instant impact. In the classroom, he holds a 3.83 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id="829416" first="Alex" last="Houck"] – Jupiter

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="829416" first="Alex" last="Houck"] is an easy choice here given his length and shooting ability. The 6-foot-3 two guard averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists per game as a junior. Houck can stretch the floor and score on all three levels. I love his rebounding ability around the glass and put back field goals. The Warriors have a great and reliable player here. Houck also gets it done in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id="962569" first="Kyle" last="McNeal"] – Dwyer

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="962569" first="Kyle" last="McNeal"] is a human highlight reel. The 6-foot-2 guard can fly in the open court and finish with authority. It’s almost like McNeal is jumping off a trampoline when he throws down a dunk or grabs a tough board. Get in front of this kid or you might be put on a poster. McNeal averaged 10.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a sophomore. He’s also a terrific football player with an offer from Florida Atlantic. McNeal is one of the best pure athletes in all of South Florida.
