There’s no doubt who the POY pick is here. Kiburis is a dominant two-way player who does a great job using his length to his advantage on both ends of the floor. A 6-3 lead guard who stuffs the stat-sheet as well as just about anyone in the state, he’s the division’s top returnee in scoring, assists, and steals. The best player on the league’s best team.

First Team

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1167671" first="William" last="Kiburis"], Gladbrook-Reinbeck: 19.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 3.3 steals, 48.4 FG%

Kiburis is a stat-sheet stuffer who does everything for the Rebels. The 6-3 lead guard is the division’s top returnee in scoring, assists, and steals, and second to only his teammate [player_tooltip player_id="1158493" first="Tristen" last="Sanford-Anders"] in rebounding.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="962675" first="Brayden" last="Sawyer"], Grundy Center: 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.7 steals, 47.8 FG%, 45.8 3P%, 79.5 FT%

The 5-9 guard has established himself as one of the state's best shooting threats after shooting well over 40% from the arc each of the last two seasons. He's dangerous with and without the ball in his hands, which makes him very difficult to defend.

2022 [player_tooltip player_id="1158493" first="Tristen" last="Sanford-Anders"], Gladbrook-Reinbeck: 10.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.2 steals, 1.6 blocks, 47.1 FG%

The leading returning rebounder in the division, Sanford-Anders provides some much needed physicality and rim protection for the Rebels. Don't be surprised to see the 6-5 big man average a double-double this year.

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1167748" first="Ryan" last="Walters"], South Hardin: 11.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 steals

Walters led the Tigers in scoring and steals last season, while also dishing out 3.5 assists a game. If he can improve his efficiency numbers, he could put up some really impressive numbers for South Hardin.

2022 Dayne Zinkula, Grundy Center: 9.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals

The other piece of the Spartans backcourt, Zinkula led the team in assists last season. The 5-10 lead guard complements Sawyer well and also does a great job contributing on the glass.

Second Team

2022 Mason Sheldahl, South Hardin

2023 Caleb Egesdal, Gladbrook-Reinbeck

2022 Daniel Stahl, AGWSR

2023 Luke Riffey, Gladbrook-Reinbeck

2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1188298" first="Bo" last="Lee"], East Marshall

Honorable Mentions

2023 Parker Pike, BCLUW
2023 Junior Brown, East Marshall
2022 Dexter Whitehill, Grundy Center
2022 Wyatt Hollingsworth, South Hardin
