5A has some parity across the state. Just like last year when a lower seed ran the table and won the whole thing. Do not be surprised if that is what happens this year. Teams like Lehi could do that again. Teams that can really make a run are Alta, Orem and a sneaky team like Murray has the pieces to win it all. The team that will start with the #1 Ranking will be Olympus. they have so many pieces to go along with seasoned coaching, they will be tough to beat.

  1. Olympus HighSchool (22-3) – Olympus is loaded with talent they have three Division 1 prospects in Jack Wistrcill Jack Wistrcill 6'8" | PF Olympus | 2022 State UT , Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes Jordan Barnes 6'4" | PG Olympus | 2024 State UT and Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell Dutch Dowdell 6'6" | SG Olympus | 2024 State #310 Nation UT . Jack will be tough across the board against any team in the state. Last years team only lost 3 games to Pleasant Grove, Bingham and Lehi. They are a team that is ready to make a run and finish it off. They have shooting and role players but they can play any style of basketball.
  2. Orem High School (6-19) – What a difference a year makes as Orem is going to have a loaded roster. With a few transfers and more players just growing up and developing. Dane Christensen Dane Christensen Dane Christensen 6'7" | SF Orem | 2022 State UT is a sleeper hig hlevel prospect that has major size and shooting ability. Then you add a solid player in Nick Clark Nick Clark 6'3" | SG Orem | 2022 State UT that can run the PG/SG position. Youngster Lance Reynolds Lance Reynolds 6'1" | PG Orem | 2024 UT will have time on the floor that will help bring a dynamic to Orem that they did not have last season. With a few other transfers leaving Mountain View this Orem team is poised to rebound big this year.
  3. Alta High School (13-12) – Alta has under achieved for sometime now and this year they look a little different. They have young size and veteran size. The only issue they will face is that their team lacks experience on the floor. In time they will be great. Especially if they stay healthy. Jaxon Heiden Jaxon Heiden Jaxon Heiden 6'9" | PF Alta | 2022 State UT is a good prospect as is Jett Lundberg Jett Lundberg 6'2" | PG Alta | 2022 State UT . The player that everyone is watching now is Jaxon Johnson who has size and can shoot. great Division 1 prospect in the making.
  4. Skyline High School (6-17) – Skyline is another team that will be able to improve from where they were last season. They have some solid guard play from Peter Broadbent Peter Broadbent Peter Broadbent 6'2" | CG Skyline | 2023 State UT , Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT and Kolten Smith. That is a lot of shooting out in the perimeter. Look for Skyline to make some noise.
  5. Lehi High School (17-8) – Lehi is back, kind of, as they graduate some major pieces in their state title run they will need more from Grayson Brousseau Grayson Brousseau 6'6" | PF Lehi | 2024 State UT , Braxton Hawkins Braxton Hawkins 6'2" | SG Lehi | 2023 State UT and might even get something from the youngster Cooper Lewis Cooper Lewis Cooper Lewis 6'1" | PG Lehi | 2024 State UT . Cole Richardson Cole Richardson 6'5" | SF Lehi | 2022 State UT is eligible this year after his transfer. Lehi has a solid team as they will try at a title defense.
  6. Murray High School (7-17) – Murray has an opportunity to really turn it around this season. They have a lot of pieces returning. They will be led by Chudi Anosike Chudi Anosike Chudi Anosike 6'5" | CG Murray | 2023 State UT who can really play. They will have some more help in the front court with the addition of Daushaun Buie-Wilkerson to help out Bowen Davies Bowen Davies Bowen Davies 6'8" | PF Murray | 2022 State UT / Then you add the shooting and play making of Jaxson Workman Jaxson Workman Jaxson Workman 6'0" | SG Murray | 2023 State UT , they will be a problem.
  7. Timpview High School (22-4) – Timpview was loaded last season and this season they will need a lot out of James Rust James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT . James is a great player as he plays on both ends of the floor. Look for him to really elevate his game.
  8. Northridge High School (5-19) – Northridge looks hungry and they have a major scoring threat in Sam Suvulich. This kid can go and he can score in a hurry.
  9. Woods Cross High School (10-12) – Woods Cross will be a good team and they have a few players to really watch in Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger Mason Bendinger 6'3" | CG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT and Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT . Curious to see if they use their young talent this year. Mason could be a big time scorer this year. Look for him to be in the high teens in scoring average.
  10. Brighton High School (16-8) – Brighton has an opportunity to really use one of their best athletes in Lander Barton Lander Barton 6'4" | PF Brighton | 2022 UT to their advantage. They play a zone and he flourishes in a zone as he will be able to stay on the floor most of the game.
