Teams from Southeast PA plus a few from Jersey and Delaware battled in 2-4 games as they prepare for the start of their regular seasons next month. Check out a hand-full of the ones who impressed.
Lincoln
The Railsplitters from Hunting Park probably had the most consistent showing across the weekend, including a takedown of Roman Catholic on Sunday. Coach Lindsey’s squad pressed and trapped 90 feet, all day. Offensively, Matt Williams (6’5 W/F 2022) led the way scoring 15, 13, and 12, finishing above and around defenders. Newcomer Aymere Thomas Aymere Thomas 6'7" | SF Abraham Lincoln | 2022 State PA (6’6 F 2022) amassed countless rebounds, steals, and blocks to go along with the 9.0 points/g. Khrystopher Murray (6’5 G 2022) came up big for them against Roman with 11 points, exploding to the basket and converting acrobatic finishes. Tamir Powell (6’3 G 2022), Rashan Locke-Hicks Rashan Locke-Hicks 5'11" | PG Math, Civics & Sciences | 2023 State PA (5’7 G 2023), Jameer Troutt (6’3 G 2023), and Rodney Skelton (6’7 F 2024) were all major contributors as well.

Shakur Smith Shakur Smith CG Imhotep Charter | 2022 State PA (6’4 W 2022) flashed in transition and with his cutting off-ball versus Rocktop (10 pts). Touri “Deuce” Ketner (6’6 F 2024) got warmed up in that game (9 pts) and really went to work against Collegium Charter (14 pts). His interior scoring and mobility went a long way for the Friars. Carver
Carver got off to a slow start, but bounced back with a game-winning put-back from Denzel Figueroa Denzel Figueroa 6'5" | SF Engineering & Sciences | 2022 PA (6’5 F 2022). Zel did a little bit of everything and a ton defending. His team defense was only second to the 18 points he scored. Taimar Stubbs’s (5’11 G 2022) paint touches were crucial. The 9 points he put up came from him getting to the rim plus drawing fouls. The addition of Nile Mosby (6’4 F 2023) can’t be understated. He gave them more size inside with the way he cleaned the glass (8 points in the game). They came back Sunday and split both games again, however they played more consistent. Cerek Sargent-Thomas (5’7 G 2022), Mustafa Sabil (6’0 G 2022), and Anthony Brown Jr (6’2 G 2024) played key roles for them as well.

They both got theirs off-the-dribble but Jameel (19 pts/g) was relentless getting to the cup, while Deuce (17.5 pts/g) was hot from three. Erik Bush (G 2023) made baskets throughout the day too.

Jalil Bethea Jalil Bethea 6'4" | SG Archbishop Wood | 2024 State #5 Nation PA (6’3 G 2024) scored 24 points on Sunday, making EIGHT threes, in a single game. He was calculated as he ran the wing in transition and moved without the ball, but, it was like he was unconscious out there (in a good way).
