This young PG is Up Next in Colorado. Although he is a Minnesota native, he is taking the city of Aurora by storm. Archie Weatherspoon is an elite PG that is playing up a grade this year. Height: 5'8 Position: PG Graduating Class: 2027 City: Aurora, CO Club Team: CB Elite 2026 Future High School: Rangeview High School Here is the latest interview with Class of 2027 prospect Archie Weatherspoon V: Who got you into basketball and do you remember how old you were? I got into basketball because of Tyus Jones who is currently in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies. When I was 3 or 4 my parents would take me to a lot of his high school games when we lived in our home state of Minnesota. I was 5 years old when he won a High School State Championship his junior year of H.S in 2013. He inspired me to grow up and play basketball. I have wanted to be as good as him. I attended his 1st Annual Tyus Jones Basketball Camp in 2016 his NBA rookie year. It was a camp for only 3rd-6th graders but my Dad signed me up an I was the only 1st grader. I won Camp MVP. Tyus handed me the award and told me to keep working and to follow my dreams. What are your favorite basketball teams? Boston Celtics & Brooklyn Nets Who are the players you try to pattern your game after? Dame Lillard and how he creates shots for himself. Chris Paul and how he is a master at the pick n' roll and making those right reads. What are some things you are working on to improve your game? I am a good defender but I am working on becoming a lockdown defender. I have also been working on creating for my teammates with penetration and finding them for easy buckets. I have really been challenged by playing up a grade with CB Elite it's more physical but I love the challenge. Top 5 songs that get you hyped up before a game? Shotta Flow 4 - NLE Choppa ft. Chief Keef Should've Ducked - Lil Durk ft. Phoo Shiesty Family Ties - Baby Keem ft. Kendrick Lamar Off the Grid - Kanye West Do you have a dream school? Duke use to be my dream school, that's where my idol went along with his little brother Tre Jones and a few of my other favorite players like Kyrie Irving and Jayson Tatum. Currently looking at different options such as those elite high schools or even those G-League Elite teams. If you could play on any NBA team which one would it be? The Milwaukee Bucks, playing with Giannis would be amazing. If basketball wasn't an option what sport and position would you play? Football and I would play Wide Receiver. What would you want to do as a career if basketball wasn't an option? Sports Broadcaster or a Coach. If you could have dinner with 5 people dead or alive who would it be? Kobe Bryant Michael Jordan Martin Luther King Jr. Muhammad Ali Albert Einstein What would your coaches say about your game and style of play? That I am a floor general and facilitator that creates opportunities for myself and my teammates. Also, that I am a deadly three-point shooter.
Additionally Archie is a leader and he is a team-first player. His ultimate goal is to get to the NBA. He wakes up at 5:45 a.m every day to work out with his Dad. To top it all off he is a straight-A student who takes his studies seriously.
