We had a great turnout at the showcase and have already provided evaluations for every prospect that was in attendance. We’ve rolled out several top performer pieces as well. Here, we take a look at five prospects that stood out that we hadn’t previously evaluated here at Prep Hoops Indiana. Expect to hear more from these guys in the near future.
Lucas Barron Lucas Barron 6'4" Connersville | 2023 IN (Connersville H.S. 2023)
This is a 2023 prospect I didn’t have any evaluation on until the Indiana Top 250. Impressive 6’4″ frame with athleticism and strength. Typical hard-nosed Connersville player. Finished very well around the basket and drove it hard to the basket. Operated in transition skillfully. The Spartans have a chance to be very good this season and a legitimate Class 3A state title contender. Barron will help provide some size on the wings. Impressive athlete.
Cade Brenner Cade Brenner 6'3" | SG NorthWood | 2023 State IN (Northwood H.S. 2023)
This is a prospect that really stood out to me as a player I wasn’t too familiar with heading into the Top 250. Brenner is a 6’3″ that made threes and then attacked closeouts off the bounce as he attracted more attention. Strong player that plays off of two feet at the end of his drives. Remember the name. Look for him to move up the Class of 2023 rankings when the next update comes.
Zach Reed Zach Reed 6'3" | PG Brebeuf Jesuit | 2022 IN (Brebeuf Jesuit 2022)
Another standout on the day that turned some heads, Reed is an aggressive, skilled offensive player. He made some shots from beyond the arc but seemed most comfortable attacking the basket. Good 6’3″ frame with some athleticism. Really impressive performance from the senior wing. Reed could be a solid late target for Division III schools throughout the state. Expect a good senior season from him.
Kieran Tewari Kieran Tewari 6'2" | SG Yorktown | 2024 State IN (Yorktown H.S. 2024)
This is a prospect who previously wasn’t on my radar that really jumped out at the Indiana Top 250. A 6’2″ sophomore point guard, Tewari handles the ball very well, has great court vision, and is an excellent driver with a quick burst. Looked really comfortable in transition. All-around playmaker with solid finishing ability. Showed a nice floater. Very skilled guard that can make all of the plays you want and should have a big sophomore season at Yorktown.
Jordan Vaughns Jordan Vaughns 6'5" Center Grove | 2022 IN (Center Grove H.S. 2022)
Under-the-radar Class of 2022 prospect that burst onto the scene at the Indiana Top 250. 6’5″ forward that was effective in the pick-and-roll as a finisher. Strong and athletic. Not someone that had much buzz before this event but college coaches should know about now. Small colleges that would like to find a late forward to recruit should definitely look into Vaughns. Has a lot of the physical tools you would want.
