The CBG Fall Series had it’s final session this past Sunday, October 24 at U-Turn in Richmond and the atmosphere and competition level was fantastic. With 20 teams on three courts including 18 high school teams and two showcase teams, there was plenty of talent across the board and tons of coaches tuned in and in person there to recruit the talent.

Here’s a look at part three of some of the standouts in the 2023 class at session three.

If you’re interested in watching the replays, you can see the entire event on the CBG Live Network.

[player_tooltip player_id="999628" first="Desmond" last="Roberts"] | 6’5” WF | VES

Roberts is set to have a breakout junior season at VES, as the hyper athletic forward plays like he’s shot out of a cannon and is productive across the board. The 6’5” forward can play all over the floor with his strength and athleticism, he brings great energy on both ends and is a walking highlight reel and he can be a real mismatch with his blend of energy, skill and bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="999655" first="Alex" last="Bokman"] | 6’4” WF | Independence

Bokman is a transfer to Independence who will bring a lot of impact with his touch and ability to get hot quickly from beyond the arc. He has good size on the wing and knows how to work to get open and sets his feet well, he has deep range and a lot of confidence in his ability to knock it down and he can take over games as he had 17 points with 5 triples in their first game.

Wes Williams | 6’0” PG | Independence

Williams is part of a talented Independence backcourt that will make it very tough for teams to pressure them and is a true floor general that is both skilled and cerebral at the lead guard spot. He plays the game the right way as he’s able to control the tempo and handle pressure, he’s a skilled shot maker and shot creator and he brings it on both ends of the floor.

Curtis Blair | 6’5” WF | Steward

Blair put up good numbers in this session and is a big reason that Steward will be a tough out both in the TCIS and in the VISAA. On a deep and talented team, he’s the guy who can create his own shot and makes tough shots from multiple levels, he is able to get to spots with ease off the bounce and he’s a good rebounder for his position too.

Callum Crossman | 6’8” PF | Virginia Academy

Crossman made a big name for himself in this session, and not by putting up huge numbers or anything, but making some plays that were unbelievably impressive. At 6’8” Crossman already is very tall and moves well, but he’s an absolute freak athlete who can throw down dunk contest worthy dunks in the game, he can contest shots well above the rim and he can protect the rim in ways many others can’t and as he continues to develop he has the tools to be very good moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id="1232157" first="CJ" last="McPherson"] | 6’3” WG | CBG Elite

McPherson played in session one and returned for session three on the CBG Elite team, as the big framed off guard showed he can do more than just shoot the basketball. He’s improved in his ability to get to spots off the bounce and finish in the lane, he’s a good rebounder and solid defender both on and off the ball and he plays with a competitive chip as well.

Kam Roberts | 6’6” F | CBG Elite

Roberts made his CBG debut as the forward from Hargrave came to Richmond and was productive and showed good versatility throughout the day. He’s worked on his body and got in better shape allowing him to play in longer spurts, he’s a versatile mismatch type of forward who can score from multiple levels and play inside-out and he can guard multiple positions as well.
