The CBG Fall Series had it’s final session this past Sunday, October 24 at U-Turn in Richmond and the atmosphere and competition level was fantastic. With 20 teams on three courts including 18 high school teams and two showcase teams, there was plenty of talent across the board and tons of coaches tuned in and in person there to recruit the talent.

Here’s a look at part three of some of the standouts in the 2022 class at session three.

If you’re interested in watching the replays, you can see the entire event on the CBG Live Network.

[player_tooltip player_id="1107854" first="Elijah" last="Easter"] | 5’10” PG | Independence

Easter is part of a talented Independence backcourt that will be very tough to beat this year and he showed his ability to both run a team and make plays on both ends of the floor at this session The 5’10” lead guard is very crafty and skilled off the bounce, he’s able to get in the lane where he can make plays for others or make shots in a number of different ways and he knows when to go get a bucket and when to distribute.

[player_tooltip player_id="1107829" first="Tazir" last="Smith"] | 6’3” WG | Virginia Academy

Smith is a very intriguing prospect who has been successful at CBG events in the past, but it was possibly his best showing so far in this session as he was not only productive but also showed improvements in the areas he needed to. He shot the ball very well from deep hitting four three’s in one game, he’s an athletic finisher in transition and can use his athleticism defensively and he’s a capable playmaker off the bounce.

[player_tooltip player_id="798747" first="Peter" last="Oduro"] | 6’7” PF | Virginia Academy

Oduro is part of a front court that is going to make VAA very tough to match up with as they’re all big, athletic and physical, and he’s improved a lot over the past few years. The 6’7” big is mobile and able to run the floor and guard multiple positions, he can score in post up and face up situations and he’s willing to do the dirty work and little things to help his team win.

Courtney Davis | 6’2” PG | Patriot

Davis was very good in both of Patriot’s games, as the big point guard is a playmaker that can control the game and is able to create within sets and when things break down. He plays with good pace and handles pressure well, he can score it from multiple levels and does so efficiently and he sets the tone on both ends of the floors.

Nick Marrero | 6’2” WG | Patriot

Marrero is one of the elite shooters in Northern VA, if not in the entire state, and he showed that in both of the sessions that Patriot played in. Marrero is a very cerebral player who knows how to work off the basketball to get open, he sets his feet quickly and has very deep range and good consistency from deep and he has great instincts on both ends of the floor.

Brian Jackson | 6’6” WF | Woodbridge

Jackson was a breakout player in session three in Woodbridge’s debut on the CBG platform, and he was excellent as a mismatch wing with his size and ability to score the basketball. Not only does he have good height for his position he also has a strong frame allowing him to play multiple positions, he can score it from multiple levels and he can play on and off the ball to get buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id="1107824" first="James" last="Patterson"] | 6’5” WF | CBG Elite

Patterson has been a staple on the CBG Elite teams throughout the Fall Series, and this was one of his best sessions and he showed why he’s one of the best two way wings in the Richmond area. He’s terrific defensively with good anticipation and a strong frame to stay in front, he’s an athletic slasher who can finish at and above the rim and he’s able to create space and knock down shots from multiple levels.

[player_tooltip player_id="1217449" first="Gray" last="Proffitt"] | 6’5” CG | CBG Elite

Proffitt continues to show why he’s a unique prospect as a combo guard at his size, as he’s very tough to match up with and his fundamental style of play makes him very productive in a number of ways. The 6’5” combo can plays with great pace and is able to get in the lane at will, he has great footwork and can use pivots to score and see the floor to make plays for others and he’s able to score it in a number of ways from different spots on the floor.
