On Sunday October 10th I attended the Prep Hoops Top-250 EXPO at Inspire Courts in Gilbert, AZ.

There were about 80 players from five states (NM/CA/CO/NV/AZ) who played three games each with 10 teams of 7-9 players on each team.

I thought there was good depth at every age group and adequate competition on every court.

Here are some 2024 standouts: (A few local newcomers in this group).

[player_tooltip player_id="1306054" first="Jaylan" last="Robinson"] Hamilton

A long lefty with good quickness to score the ball. He can crossover into a pull-up and shoot it from mid to the 3pt line. He shows athleticism in the lane and will score it in traffic with floaters and contested shots. He uses his length on defense and he will be in the Huskies rotation next season.

[player_tooltip player_id="1278778" first="William" last="Dixion"] Canyon Del Oro

A long guard has good length and is good getting downhill. He can score it with either hand with layups and tougher shots in traffic. He is a good passer and he will defend using his long wingspan and quickness.

[player_tooltip player_id="1194767" first="Jake" last="Miller"] Chaparral (Pictured)

A scoring point guard who can shoot it with range. He seems like he grew 1-2 inches recently which will help him moving forward. He falls into the "knows how to play" category to go along with his clip from mid to the 3pt line. He can find open teammates and brings confidence to the court.

[player_tooltip player_id="996174" first="Bo" last="Dolinsek"] Corona del Sol

A thicker forward with a pretty touch to the 3pt line. He has a strong base to bang inside and rebounds at a good rate and he smartly boxes his man out and will corral the rebound. He can score it near the rim and is crafty around the hoop.

[player_tooltip player_id="1306009" first="Aaron" last="Munoz"] Mayfield/NM

A long and lean gunner from New Mexico has a pretty stroke. He smartly moves without the ball and will relocate and set up to get open to fire away. Once he gets stronger he will be more effective at many things. For now, he can space the floor for his team.

[player_tooltip player_id="1146744" first="Abhiraj" last="Gedela"] Paradise Valley

A true point guard who is very good off of the pick and roll game. He has good speed in the open court and makes good reads with the ball. He needs to get stronger for more long term success, but fights hard and can shoot it a little from the perimeter. He is currently best driving to the basket.
