ICYMI: Announcement: 2025 Watch List Debut
Here is a look at the Top 10 and a breakdown of each prospect’s game and upside.
No. 1 –
Ryan Jones

The Rock | 2024
State
#46
Nation
FL
– 6-9 – The Rock
There is endless upside here for Jones. The lengthy forward has grown in height, maturity and really worked on his body over the last year’s stretch. A member of the USA Men’s U16 National Team, Jones holds his own game in and game out. He is a double-double machine with a keen awareness inside and as a jump shooter. With offers from Illinois, Ole Miss, LaSalle, Texas A&M and LaSalle, I fully expect more high major programs to jump onboard. This is an all-around prospect.
No. 2 –
Derik Queen

Queen

Montverde Academy | 2024
State
#10
Nation
FL
– 6-9 – Montverde
A big body who has an impressive mix of handles and ball fake moves, Queen can hit jumpers with ease. His length is a nightly matchup against any team, especially on another revamped and loaded Montverde squad. He has offers out from Alabama, Indiana, Auburn, DePaul, LSU, Virginia Tech, Georgetown, Arizona State and Maryland. The Maryland native has room to add muscle and strength, but he is a hybrid/versatile forward who can really flourish.
No. 3 – Marcus Allen Marcus Allen 6'4" | SF West Orange | 2021 State FL – 6-7 – Norland
Watching the progression from Allen is something else. He simply is a worker and grinder. A long body with a smooth shot and freakish athleticism, he battles on both ends of the floor. Allen is in for a huge season at Norland, a program back as a major threat down south. With offers from UF, FSU and Miami, schools outside of the state need to take notice right now in Allen’s game.
No. 4 –
Karter Knox

Tampa Catholic | 2024
State
#5
Nation
FL
– 6-6 – Tampa Catholic
The youngest of the three Knox brothers, Karter was on fire on Saturday night at the IssaBucket #XBL League against St. Pete. He was hitting 3’s with ease, setting up his teammates with good passes and finishing down low with dunks. The most impressive aspect of Knox’s game is his unselfishness and willingness to push the tempo. Knox has an offer from Boise State, but I expect him to earn a slew of Division I offers this year as Tampa Catholic prepares for a tough schedule.
No. 5 –
Sammie Yeanay

AZ Compass | 2024
#102
Nation
AZ
– 6-8 – North Marion
Only playing hoops for two years, you’d have no clue when watching Yeanay. The North Marion forward is always bringing his top game when I see him in the gym. He was smooth as can be with his inside slashing and finishes at the Top 250 Expo last month and he makes everyone around him more energized. No offers have come yet for the big man, but Yeanay is well on his way for a huge leap forward.
No. 6 – Amier Ali Amier Ali 6'8" | CG Montverde Academy | 2024 State #36 Nation FL – 6-8 – Montverde
The Texas native makes his way down south to Montverde to fill a key role as a shooter and slasher. Ali is a do it all type wing who can really get after it. His handles are beyond impressive and he can hurt defenses in a variety of ways, especially as a high IQ passer. Wake Forest and LSU have offered already. Expect his progression to be on display in full force this fall.
No. 7 –
Zachiah Clark
Zachiah
Clark
6'2" | CG
Windermere Prep | 2024
FL
– 6-2 – Windermere Prep
Coming over from Tennessee with his older brother Skyy, Zachiah known as “ZZ”, is a gifted ballhandler and active playmaker. His jumper is seasoned and his confidence is high. He fits the mold of a next-level combo guard who can score in bunches and also dish out crafty passes. Washington, Creighton, Illinois, Boise State, Arizona State, Kansas, Rutgers, Tennessee State, Vanderbilt and DePaul have all extended offers to Clark. UPDATE – Clark officially transferred from Montverde to Windermere Prep on Monday.
No. 8 –
Isaac Celiscar
Isaac
Celiscar
6'6" | SG
Winter Haven | 2024
State
FL
– 6-6 – Winter Haven
It was fun to watch the maturation of Celsicar, who is a long bodied guard. He can get after it with spin moves, finishes at the rack and mid-range jumpers. He has room to fill out his body for sure, but he rarely gets rattled and he rarely takes bad shots. Celiscar is a true wing who really sets everything up for his team. Siena offered this past spring and I expect more to come for the Winter Haven sophomore.
No. 9 –
Asa Newell
Asa
Newell
6'8" | PF
Choctaw | 2024
State
#6
Nation
FL
– 6-8 – Choctaw
The breakout for Newell started at the state tournament as he was a major spark for a Choctaw team on the ropes in the semifinal. He hit some key shots and gained confidence which has carried over to the summer and now the fall. Newell was shooting at a high clip at the Top 250 late last month and is a mismatch with his size and scoring ability from deep. Illinois, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss and Georgia Tech have all offered already.
No. 10 –
Isaiah Brown
Isaiah
Brown
6'5" | CG
Orlando Christian Prep | 2024
State
#138
Nation
FL
– 6-4 – Orlando Christian Prep
You saw glimpses of Brown’s game improving as the season went along last year for an Orlando Christian Prep team that captured the 2A state title. A powerhouse in the Orlando area, Brown is part of a deep group of talented young prospects. He is going to earn major minutes this fall. He can flat out fly to the bucket with one-handed dunks as well as hit outside shots and lay-ins. Brown’s upside is clear as Portland and Ohio have both offered.
