Three Teams
Davis High School
If you are familiar with high school basketball in Utah you know that there is no team that that will ever take the Davis Darts lightly. The defending 6A State Champions have some strong pieces and the are usually not hitting their full stride this early in the season, they are a team that usually picks it up later in the year. With excellent college prospects like Rex Sunderland Rex Sunderland 6'4" | PG Davis | 2022 State UT and Henry Ihrig the Darts have shown some flashes of a team that will truly make a defense of their title.
Orem High School
Orem has been really impressive this fall, with various new additions to their team that will require some time to build and also some players missing because they’re playing football, Orem is going to be good. They have size and they have experience and talent. Dane Christensen Dane Christensen 6'7" | SF Orem | 2022 State UT is a solid prospect along with Nick Clark Nick Clark 6'3" | SG Orem | 2022 State UT . They also have some youngsters that can play such as Lance Reynolds Lance Reynolds 6'1" | PG Orem | 2024 UT . They will be true 5A Contenders.
Dixie High School
Dixie is no stranger to playing with a bullseye on their back and that might be the case this year once again as they have a roster loaded with talent. Although some of the other neighboring schools are closing the gap they still have some top tier talent. Kean Webb Kean Webb 6'10" | C American Fork | 2023 State UT is an interesting prospect that has size and strength, he is also mobile. Kyle Lemke Kyle Lemke 6'9" | C Dixie | 2024 State UT is also going to be a prospect that will develop as a solid 2024 player. The kid everyone is excited to watch is incoming freshmen John Southwick John Southwick 6'3" | SG Utah Prep | 2025 State #234 Nation UT who will likely not be available till late in the season.
Three Players
6’8 Jackson Johnson || Alta High School || 2024 ||
This kid came out of nowhere and he is good. With elite size and shooting ability to go along with skill and some nice touch. Jackson is a college prospect that will develop nicely.
6’4 Tyler Burraston Tyler Burraston 6'4" | SG Corner Canyon | 2022 State UT || Corner Canyon High School || 2022 ||
If you’re looking for a shooter in the class this kid is a must watch. Although there is a lot of good shooter in the Class of 2022, Tyler is elite. The kid if allowed will challenge the state record and he shoots it at a high percentage.
6’2 Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn 6'2" | PG Montverde Academy | 2023 #42 Nation FL || RSL Academy || 2023 ||
This kid is for real. He is a D1 guard that can score in so many ways. People talk about three-level scoring, well Dravyn has reached the next level. Must watch as he makes it look easy at times.
