Digging into the well here for sleeper prospects in South Florida. While I’m not putting a number on it, these prospects are currently low on our list. I assure you I’m not picking out names in the top 20. For reference, we have 245 prospects ranked.

Let’s have a look...

[player_tooltip player_id="1306091" first="Jeremy" last="Elyzee"] – Miami Barbara Goleman (PH. 208)

[player_tooltip player_id="1306091" first="Jeremy" last="Elyzee"] has good size at this point for a sophomore. The 6-foot-4 forward averaged 16.5 points and 6.5 rebounds over fourteen games played. Elyzee was putting up near double-double numbers in most of the games I viewed. That's impressive for a freshman. His production warrants a look.

[player_tooltip player_id="1306135" first="JR" last="Barthelus"] – Lake Worth (PH. 212)

The Trojans are a pretty good team after going 10-4 last season. Barthelus is a 6-foot-5 kid that could grow more. He’s one of the better sized forwards in the area. That should give him an advantage as he begins his sophomore season. In addition, look for him to fill out and put on more muscle. Let’s see what he can do with it over time.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055755" first="Jack" last="Servaites"] – Stoneman Douglas (PH. 234)

Stoneman Douglas could have something with [player_tooltip player_id="1055755" first="Jack" last="Servaites"]. He’s a 6-foot-2 point guard with a pretty good handle. I would like to see him improve his athleticism and scoring ability. However, I think he’s a reliable kid at this point.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055754" first="Matthew" last="Barcia"] – Sagemont (PH. 172)

Could [player_tooltip player_id="1055754" first="Matthew" last="Barcia"] be the next great guard up in Boca Raton? He’s got some size (6’1) to work with in the backcourt. Barcia played for Triple Double Tarheels in the past. He has some scoring ability and 3-point range.

[player_tooltip player_id="1055716" first="Maxwell" last="Porter"] - Cardinal Gibbons (PH. 236)

[player_tooltip player_id="1055716" first="Maxwell" last="Porter"] is a 6-foot-3 guard for the Chiefs. He has good length and can rebound well for a guard. Porter is playing for a good athletic program and school in Fort Lauderdale. Therefore, I think his development will be something to watch.
