SubscribeOn Saturday I made the trip to Burlington, NJ for the annual 1st Love Middle School Academy. After a great day in the gym, these were some of the takeaways we walked away with.
Tons Of Upside With Logan Franz
Standing at 6’8, Logan was the first player that immediately stood out on Saturday towering over everybody. Franz was dominant from start to finish and showed that he has a nice skillset to go with his size. Franz was dunking everything and showed a consistent mid range jumper. Franz will need to get a lot stronger but there is a lot to like from the class of 2026 prospect from Jersey.
Jaren Barnett Is A Playmaker
Barnett was by far the best playmaker on Saturday at the 1st Love Middle School Academy. Barnett is a 5’6 lead guard who is a savvy playmaker that can score at a high level and also distribute the ball well.
William Brunson Steals The Show In 6th Grade Division
Brunson is a name to remember as he was the most dominant player from the class of 2028. Brunson has tremendous ball handling skills that you do not see from a 6th grader and used that to his advantage very well. Brunson plays with a lot of swag too while he is on the court which makes him really fun to watch.
Nicholas Harken Shows Out
Earlier in the year I saw Harken dominate for T-TownBallerz and I can only say Harken has improved since. Harken was the lone 7th grader playing in the 8th grade division and for good reasoning as he ended up being one of the top players in the entire event. Harken is currently 6’1 and is a force around the rim on both ends of the ball.
Keyon Williams Could Be Next Up In The DMV
Williams is from Baltimore and has potential to make a lot of noise in the DMV before heading off to college if he keeps playing the way he did this past weekend. Williams had one of the best motors at the 1st Love Middle School Academy and is a player you will start to hear more about as he continues to get older.
