Nick Spinelli, ASA, Newton North Class Freshman, Position G,
Nick Was on fire shooting this weekend. Nick hit a lot of tough three points that were highly contested. Nick is a guard who had good handles and is strong with the ball. Nick made a bunch of tough shots through the lane. He showed his soft touch with his floater, the skills to score over bigger defenders, and how he can finish at the rim through contact. When he was fouled he did a good job converting at the free throw line. Nick had some very high level finishes this weekend. Nick is also a strong defender, and good at forcing on ball pressure. Nick Should have more standout games throughout the fall, and is looking ready for the high school basketball season.
Paul Kazarosian NYBC Elite, Newton South Class Senior, Position Guard,
Paul helped lead the NYBC program to a 5-0 weekend, and its first every tournament championship. Paul had a standout game, and made a lot of big plays down the stretch. Paul won the Zero Gravity player of the game, and had 28 points. Paul hit a lot of big shots. Paul was Aggressive all game, and looking to Attack. He was strong driving to the basket, making a lot of tough finishes through contact. Paul also shot the ball well. Paul was a playmaker, and someone you could count on when you needed a big basket or defensive stop down the stretch. Paul has been rising his stock, and I expect to see more big games from Paul and the NYBC program.
Marc Garraud, Middlesex Magic, Position G, Class Junior
Marc Garraud had a standout weekend for the Magic, in a very high level varsity division. Marc had a lot of high level crafty finishes. and did a good job getting out in transition. Marc was a scorer, and finishes strong through contact. Marc is a guard who does not turn the ball over. Marc has good handles, and is very Athletic. Marc won Zero Gravity player of the game. Marc is a high level player who is skilled, and can take his game to high level.
Zach Romich, Mass Rivals, Class Sophomore, Position F
Zach had a huge game, and tournament helping lead the Mass Rivals to the tournament championship. Zach was big on both ends of the floor. He made many key stops on defense all game, and also made a lot of big baskets down the stretch. Zach is a versatile player that can impact the game in many ways. Zach was a playmaker the entire weekend, and just never looked like he slowed down. Zach is a player that coaches should take note of,
