Threat Hoops High School Round Robin: Top Teams

<p>Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at the top teams at the High School Round Robin at the Center of St Louis Sports.</p> <p>East St Louis: The talented Flyers squad went 3-0 for the weekend. They were led by 6’4 2022 point guard Christian Jones, a Mizzou commit; and 6’5 2023 forward Macaleab Rich. The presence of Rich and 6’7 2023 power forward Dorian Brown gives East Side a strong front line.</p> <p>Chaminade: The new-look Flyers are strong on the perimeter with solid 6’0 2023 BJ Ward at point guard and three nice wing players in 6’3 2022 twins Nate and Walter Straughter and 6’3 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1161297" first="Nilivan" last="Daniels"]. Up front, 6’10 2025 Ben Winkler is a promising young big.</p> <p>MICDS: The Rams featured one of the top prospects at the event in versatile 6’8 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="984509" first="Brandon" last="Mitchell-Day"]. He is joined by the solid backcourt tandem of 6’2 2023 [player_tooltip player_id="1161296" first="Marcus" last="Coleman"] and 5’8 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1269598" first="Jayden" last="Banks"].</p> <p>Fort Zumwalt West: The hot-shooting Jaguars won all three games over the weekend. They have an impressive backcourt pair in 5’9" 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="993355" first="Ray" last="Horry"] and 5’8" 2023 Kyle Harris. Horry is athletic and explosive while Harris is very quick. Dillon Bates is a 2022 wing who shot the lights out from 3-point range while 6’1" 2023 Ethan Hatfield can also shoot it.</p> <p>Confluence Academy: The Titans have a good blend of experience and young talent that was on display during the weekend. Trasean White is a 6’1" 2022 who can penetrate and get into the lane with regularity. White was paired with 5’10" Normandy transfer [player_tooltip player_id="991581" first="Jamod" last="Robinson"] during the weekend. He’s quick. Up front, we saw good things from 6’4" 2024 forward [player_tooltip player_id="1161820" first="Bryant" last="Moore"].</p> <p>Lift for Life: The Falcons have an impressive set of young guards in 6’0" 2023 Otis Grissom and 5’9" 2024 [player_tooltip player_id="1271865" first="Dennis" last="Olds"]. Grissom plays and old-school game that is under control while Olds plays with speed and a nice change of direction. Terrell Shumpert is a 6’4’ 2022 forward with excellent athleticism and rebounding ability.</p>
