With AAU back in full swing this July, I was not able to get to as much PYBL as I would have liked. Below are three takeaways from the 2027 class that I was able to establish during my time at PYBL…
Bowman Steals The Show
NaVorro Bowman let the DMV know that he is one of the next big things to come out of the DMV after his dominating PYBL season. Bowman put up some ridiculous numbers during the summer for his City team leading them to a PYBL Championship. Bowman is a slick guard that has a complete scoring package. He still needs to grow as he is only 5’1 at the moment but once he does he will become even more dominant. Expect Bowman to become a household name in the DMV for the coming years.
Etoule Could Be Special
The second most productive player I saw from the 2027 class playing in the PYBL this summer was Etoule. Like Bowman, I believe Etoule will be near the top of the list for the local 2027 class in Maryland. With how much strength he carries, you would think he is older than a 7th grader which allows him to do so much in the post. It will be interesting to see what happens with his body in the next year or two which will tell us more about his position for the future.
Future Of The 2027 Class
The 2027 class looks to be a strong one in the DMV. Prep Hoops Next was very impressed with the level of play when evaluating the 2027 competition this summer as there are a lot of prospects that could make noise on a national level in the coming years.
